The Tigers went into the season a little thin at OT. Then we lost Josh D at guard, Lonergan got knicked in the Oregon game, Blackwell disappeared in the third quarter of the MSU game, and our left OT, Chris Faulk, went down for who knows how long?

We now have 285# Greg Shaw protecting the QB blind side. I think he is good enough, but what happens if we lose another OT....or any other O-lineman, for that matter? Loss of another gaurd or center leaves us very thin on the O-line as a whole.

I hope that Blackwell and Hurst are both able to play soon! I really don't want to see T-Bob at LT!

The Tigers have a long and brutal SEC schedule ahead of them. They need some health and more depth on the O-line, IMHO.

I hope

It worries me that we haven't played some more people yet. I thought NSU would have been a good time to get a lot of people some playing time.

Was there ever any word of how bad Faulk's injury is?

I'm fine with Shaw, particularly in pass pro. La'el and Davenport are also there at T, so I think we should be ok, barring any other injuries.

Blackwell went out because of penalties I thought, and I don't remember Hurst going out.

This thread is full of fail. Faulk went down, not hurst. Blackwell was benched because of two penalties against him.

Actually, to me this is the first year in a while where we have quality depth on the line. Faulk (who is the one hurt BTW, not Hurst) goes down and Shaw fills in well for him. We still have Collins and Davenport as an option as well. Williford also had some good games last year and is ready to step in at G if we lose someone.

Oops, my mistake. I couldn't remember which OT got injured. I went to the LSUSports depth chart to check who is listed at LT but still mistakingly wroute Hurst instead of Faulk.

Somebody please beat me up for that!

With respect to Blackwell, I believe he was removed from the game for causing some bad penalties, totally killing an early third quarter drive. One was a PF and the other was motion.

It surprised me that Miles would simply remove him for the rest of the game, and I am wondering if maybe he aggrivated an injury. Blackwell was hurting late in summer practice.

Don't forget the man everyone loves to hate, T-Bob, can play either Guard or Center just fine so that can allow someone else to move outside if someone goes down at T.

Our OL is my biggest worry when considering the depth dept. Injuries are par for the course. Be we still have some depth there so we aren't set up with our backs against the wall and just waiting for a meltdown if we lose another OL.

It is funny. We are soooo deep at most every position that even though we have more quality depth at OL it still feels like a weakness waiting to happen.
