Pulled up to Downside before the sun came up with my family for a day of family fun.
Picked up 100 live shrimp and a dozen storm minnows.
Headed towards the Hospital wall and caught nothing.
Headed toward the L&n bridge and 3' rollers were coming in from lake borgne.
Scratch that idea.
Headed down the ICW and turned into the marsh near the Chef and found plenty bait all over the place.
Only caught 2 dink trout and my son caught a 15" puppy drum.

Burned up the marsh for about an hour before heading down the Chef towards lake P.
No birds working and no bait to be seen.
Headed back in with 70 live shrimp left in the bait well before the storms got to us.
Pretty bad day out there. Tide was moving pretty good all day but still no fish.
Guess the winds out of the SE all day messed up the bite.
Can't wait till the bridges turn back on.

Well, if I were going fishing this weekend, I know where I wouldn't be going.

sucks to hear man, hate days like that. A bad day of fishing is always better than a good day at work

yep, that's the point of my post.
Hopefully it will save some people some money.
Boat that left out of Dockside the same time as us headed west towards the Lacomb area and fished the North shore did really well on plastics.

meauxjeaux-

went last Friday to Rigolets...seemed the pearl was dumping a lot of muddy water, especially at the l&n. Same for me...went all over for a bunch of puppy drum and a couple of white trout. Biloxi marsh is producing for what I hear and a buddy of mine went out yesterday near Bayou Lacombe...waiting on a report from him to see how he did. I'll keep you posted.

good luck and stay safe

Meaux,

I took a quick afternoon trip in the same area Friday before last...

Same thing was happening out the Pearl like the poster above mentioned. I know they opened a spillway in the Jackson, MS area to help flush the spill out the Pearl. Not sure if they ever closed those.

fished the chef pass area saturday w/ similar results. caught a spec and a largemouth bass w/in a few yards of each other. the water def seemed to be very fresh and the wind seemed to screw up what was gonna be a good falling tide.
