just yet. I read Dandy daily, and for those that do you know that you can pick up some good tidbits from him, if you know what to look past. I don't know how the rest of the Tiger Nation feels about this, but I think both of these kids are more talented than either Ridley or Scott, and that is not a knock at those two backs. I think both Ford and Ware are more explosive and a lot more upside than either. Give them the same carries through they year as Ridley got, and their numbers exceed Ridleys. Not knocking Ridley, just my opinion.

Guess we will see. It would not surprise me to have both guys near 1,000 yards this year. Ford seems to have surpassed Ware (shocking that all the ranters had him at #4 back this pre-season..lol), but my money is still on Ware as the best overall back. Both, imo, have some serious upside...and both are more explosive....once Ford learns to block better....he could be #1.

Ridley was outstanding last year and always got the yard or two that he needed when it counted the most. Great heart.

Charles Scott underperformed in his last year, IMO.

Ware>Ford could prove to be great but it will take more than a great game against Oregon, followed up by a beatdown on a high school football team.

Shocking that some take Guilbeau articles at face value...

Yes, but it was not like both didn't also have great games against A&M to finish last year as well....I think you are underestimating the kids....you don't have to be an upperclassmen to be a great running back....time will tell....one of the two will emerge as great...the other won't be shabby...

Before you post a something misleading like this – read the whole sentence!

Dandy Don: "I do not believe that Ford and Ware are comparable to Ridley and Scott at this time, but I believe they will be by the second half of the season after they have several games under their belts."

I think Ford is one of the most and will prove to be one of the most talented runners we have had in awhile.

Misleading? I believe they are already there....look I respect the guy and read him daily...but to say they are not comparable right now is not accurate...imho. I already think they are as good if not better...jmo...we all got em'

Ford/Ware have scored 7 TDs combined already in only 2 games! I think with that sort of production, you have to give them some credit as a duo. Im excited to see how they progress as the year goes on and get into sec play

no one said that they don't deserve credit. all i said was that they don't need to be compared right now to those two.

they only played one game. (i could have scored two td's against nsu).

My feeling exactly. He isn't hanging a hat on any guy, but he did say they will have a shot at being every bit as good near the end of the season. Comparisons like this always leave me wanting. How do you compare the last year's line? What about a great or miserable passing game that opens up running possibilities? How about the play calling; was it run oriented or predicated on the passing attack?

I hear this all the time. "Well, if all things were equal..." ALL THINGS ARE NEVER EQUAL. I think this is one of the best stable of running back we ever had at LSU, and Ford is very impressive. Ware, good as advertised. Blue, a good back and a hell of a special teams player. I watched him from the south end zone, and he is usually near the ball if he hadn't made the play.

More to come from these guys, and I can't wait. I like our depth at almost every position, and our ablility to move fresh guys in and out. Defense wins games, well, depth at key positions doesn't hurt either. Some of these guys would be starters elsewhere. In many wasy it is not like they are one and two and three. These guys are more like one and one A. They are very close talent-wise. I'd put a wideout running long down the field each play making that hot shot corner have his tongue dragging by the end of the third quarter.

And where do you ask did I get such remarkable insight, knowledge, and acumen when it comes to the game played with the oblate spheroid? The same as most of the "resdient analysts" on this board. In my 63 years of living I have actually played SIX whole games of touch football when I was twelve.

Ford has great vision and great speed. He nees to work on not lowering his head going into contact, but otherwise his form is good, too. He has huge potential.

Only time will tell.... but since you threw it out there: they have different running styles.. I personally think Ford is and will be the better natural runner... They have way more potential than Ridley or Scott.. (not knocking either)
Ware reminds me of a quarter horse, and Ford a throughbred.... barring injury, these backs will carry us to NC
