Scott was very overated IMO. Ridley was better and should have gotten his chance sooner. Keiland looked great the few times he played and I thought Ford would end up like that without ever getting a chance. Luckily, Porter is gone and the favorites game is over.

Ware and Ford are better than Scott. On par with Ridley.

They both played in the bowl game last year, and if I remember correctly Ware was mvp.....and both had near 100 against oregon....two top ten teams....so don't give me the NSU stuff...they will be playing yet again this week against another top 25 team, this one an SEC team...if they excel there as well....just sayin.....don't act like they played well against ONE weak team...that is not the case. They have played well against quality competition.

So Far, Ridley is head and shoulders the best back of the four. Who knows how well he could have done had he gotten serious carries earlier in his LSU career. He was a total beast last year for us and the bell cow of our offense. He did everything well.

Scott was a pretty decent power back and I think when careers are done, both Ford and Ware will surpass what Scott accomplished at LSU and the comparisons will be laughable. The question is whether either will surpass Ridley. It depends on how they are used, but I think both have an excellent chance considering our O-Line will be awesome for hte next several years and we are running a scheme that really fits with their talents.

Not knocking Ridley at all...I actually know the guy....from where he grew up....played hard and with heart...not any question at all....

On a different note...I am anxiously awaiting the return of RS, and to see what the new coaches can do with him....he will just add another dimension to an already improved offense imo.

RS is a gimmick player. if we had a great WR coach he may be able to make it, but honestly he's a gimmick player. He can be an X factor for sure on occasion but I don't want to see him touching the ball more than 5-6 times in a game.

Ford has great vision and great speed. He nees to work on not lowering his head going into contact

Is this strictly a safety concern?

I can't think of any rb's who don't lower their head.

FAIL...but coming from you this does not surprise. Your knowledge of football, as well as your opinions, is always laughable. Head and shoulders...lol....I stand by my assertion that either ware or ford, if given the carries that ridley got last year, would have exceeded the results of ridley. It may be hard for them to surpass him since it appears they will split carries....but one only has to look at ypc, and yards after catch, etc.....Ware demonstrated what he could do in the bowl game with the same line ridley was running behind. This is not a bash ridley thread....he was much appreciated...I just think these guys are better.

I feel much better about RS already....anything you guys post is taken with a grain of salt....you guys are both legends in your own mind.

dandy don would be correct on this as of today. ridley>ware>ford. ridley got the tough yards and took the punishment through an entire SEC season. ware, ford have never started an SEC game. oregon=2nd tier sec team, northshit=high school.

ware has size and power of typical sec back. ford has greater breakaway potential but lesser every down back potential. no way ford could survive sec schedule carrying 20 times a game.

I only noticed it a couple of times, and I saw someone else post about it here, but there is something about the way he does it that makes me cringe. It didn't seem like he was "tucking" his head in to brace for impact as he was more leading with his head into the contact, which worried me. I just don't want him getting hurt.

People are seriously underrating Scott in this thread. Considering how we were behind so much-- including getting blown out twice--his '08 season with RSFR Jarrett Lee at QB was nothing short of amazing. I'm not getting into this ranking business, but I think Scott deserves a little more respect than a lot of you tards are giving him.

I think both Ford and Ware are more explosive and a lot more upside than either. Give them the same carries through they year as Ridley got, and their numbers exceed Ridleys.
This is the right answer.

Off topic but I know exactly what you mean and have never understood why an offensive player never gets flagged for it but a defensive player can.

I don't think he's doing it to try to spear anyone, and I guess that's the difference. The rule is based on the assumption that lowering your head on D is trying to spear the receiver or QB. I guess.
