I saw their game today. They looked formidable with Cam Newton. He can pass pretty well and then catch you off guard with his hammering run ability. I can see that style spell trouble for the way our D has looked thus far.
These are definitely not 2 game to look past this year.

not sure it matters.

1) we cant get pressure any more than the cards
2) Newton was hitting well covered receivers at times. I was suprised at his accuracy downfield.

I agree with the OP. i think they will be better than anyone originally thought. Newton looked like vet back there. Not sure if he can keep that up, but its not what youd expct from a rookies first NFL start.

Plenty of times Steve Smith of all people was left wide open by 10+ yards.

The Cardinals offense is also going through growing pains with Kolb at QB.

two the big catches i recall, Smith was blanketed. One was on PP7 for a TD.

dayum, pretty definitive for 6% through the season.

Newton did look better than most anyone prolly could have guessed. There were however a large number of plays where the AZ backend looked awful. It looked like many complete blown coverages.

that TD he burned past Peterson by a nice fake move, but credit to Peterson's exemplary closing speed he managed to catch up to Smith and make a play of it.

Jon Beason feared to be out for the season with a torn achilles. That's a super major blow.

We should be fine against them -- this year.

I think Cam is the real-deal, though.

I saw the injury, it definitely looked major. He's their best or second best defensive player.

And with one helmet hit to his knee as he's running his season, along with the Panthers, are over.

Sincerely,

damn, what is up with the Panthers LBs?

Dan Morgan missed a billion games for them when he was there
Thomas Davis missed the last year and a half
now Beason looks done for the season

Kind of like us and RBs

an NFL defense...carolina's offense is scary. They might be inconsistent because Newton is young, but frick they're loaded with potential

deangelo williams
greg olsen
shockey
steve smith
brandon lafell

There has been alot of talk about the heir apparent to the Mannings, bradys, brees', etc...

of course rodgers is great, but matt ryan, mark sanchez, joe flacco and every other "next big thing" already looks like crap compared to newton.

Sanchez in 2 years hasn't had a game as good as Newton's FIRST game

K. Kolb: 18/27 309 2/0

If that is growing pains the NFL best watch the frick out

How many yards did the Rookie throw for in his first game? I think he IS somethign of concern for the Saints porous D.

No sir, Earlys TD was a great move with a couple good blocks that spurred him to his TD
