I know we were playing NW St. but I thought we could have worked more on our intermediate passing game than focusing on wr screens and a few long balls. Crossing routes and post patterns would be nice to see IMO.

And it seemed with the running game we ran a lot of 1 wr formations inviting even more men in the box. I would have liked to see more 2-3 wr formations spreading the defense out while running the ball instead of just grinding out 3-4 yard runs with 8+ men in the box.

Yeah, we really should bring our A-game against NSU, pull out all the stops.

Building the QBs confidence first is probably more important.

the things you didn't like-they will never change.

Accept it. Life is easier once you do.

ETA:
Qualifier:
Unless we are down 2 touchdowns in an SEC game the game plan won't change.

I wake up every day and thank God that I am not as dumb as some of the posters here on the Rant.

Let me guess...I bet the OP also thinks Mettenberger should be handed the starting job immediately?

1. The passing game was 17/21 225 yards 2 TDs 0 Int

2. We play State on Thursday no need wasting real good stuff on NW St.

People always say this, I'd like to know when we have ever appeared to work on our passing game in an actual game.

Games are not the time to "work" on possible shortcomings regardless of the opponent. They have days set aside for this kind of work. It's called practice.

Amen. Les is perfectly letting the offense pound sand as long as they give the defense enough time to rest so it can win the game.

What else would you have liked to show future opponents?

What you saw tonight is what you'll see from here on out unless they are down a couple touchdowns.

History suggests it.

The LSU offensive game plan this year will be very similar to the Alabama game plans you have seen the past few years. Get used to it.

I like the idea of 1WR + 2TE I-formations, especially against MSU. Did you see their linebackers today? They're so bad that stacking the box will actually help LSU. The more LB's state puts in the box, the more rushing yards LSU will have.
