Hard hitting, slamming, ripping helmets off! i really believe that spooked Oregon & i hope we keep that intensity all season long! D Thomas didn't get sacked because he was running backwards throwing the ball all night long after taking a few hits early! Heck they were hitting so hard they were hurting each other! Never seen a nastier defense at LSU!!!

I noticed really early on a couple of those incomplete passes, Mathieu, Mo and Simon would go ahead and give the WR a pop anyways.

Just a really early little... "Hello, I'll be here all night."

There were good defenses before, most recently 2006 and 2003.

Agreed very good but they were under control. That defense was like a vicious pitbull on a chain charging at you & Oregon was the mailman shaking praying the chain didn't break! lol!

I loved it. But let's not crown them the 85 Bears just yet. All they did was stop a gimmicky Pac-12 team with an inaccurate QB.

Laron Landry was never under control. I'm not discounting the 2011 defense but there have been dominant defenses recently.

That's why i said i hope they keep it up. & i'm talking about how they literally put fear in Oregon's offense from the beginning. The scare factor means a lot! Takes a step a 2 out of a person.

yes Laron Landry was out of control but he was the only 1 out of control! this was 11 players out of control! Huge difference! I mean i kind of want to say, calm down, but they way Oregon reacted to it i say Do that every game!

this years has the potential to be better. Our final stats might not show it with the hard schedule we have. I can't wait to see this D against a more tradional spread and pro set. Boys are going to set up camp in bama's backfield.

1st i'm comparing the intensity the viciousness the fierceness! not the skillz! ok i'm done arguing all i know if that team didn't rip hemlets off slam people down scare people. After the games people were like dang that defense is awesome. This team people are already scared of them! Not just the SEC but all of College Football! Thing is we really don't know how good our LB's are, but they were just as vicious! DL is nasty DB's are monsters!

This D has alot to prove to be in the discussion. Yes, they looked good against a gimmick short passing dink/dunk PAC-whatever team, but thats not how they will be measured. I will say this, they are a very diverse group, that tackled well in space, and played with much control, considering their youth. Our D-backs are the strength, right now, but our line is fast on the edges, and our DT's played much better than I expected. Minter played the run really well, and should be good against our power teams. Logan was the surprise IMO, very athletic for his size, and Freak was productive in his limited time. Brockers is as billed, a stud/force in the run game, and eats up blockers. Worried some about the power teams, Bama especially, but should be favored in the rest of our games.

Not saying they aren't very talented, but this was one game against a team that likes to run it outside. Teams with a more downhill physical running game could possibly pose some problems.

That being said, what some of them may lack in size they make up for by just being ferocious.
