Overrated chant last night

Why do fans always do this? If Oregon is overrated, it cheapens the win for LSU. Perhaps Oregon is the #3 team and they are not overrated, but rather, LSU is just THAT good.

Yeah, that one stung a bit. I'll admit it. However, I think we're a top 10 team for sure. We'll bounce back.

They were pretty sloppy, penalties, turnovers, etc.

It doesn't cheapen a thing. Instead of playing a pansy we played a ranked OOC opponent who, by the way, was the runner up in last years NCG. They shouldn't have been ranked #3 IMO.

That's it to a tee. It was easy to accept. The loss to Auburn really hurt, but this one..not as bad. LSU was just better. Plain and simple. LSU had the better defense. Your offense was better. Your special teams were better and the coaching was substantially better. It's an easy pill to swallow when you accept it.

I thought it was hilarious. I get your point, but I don't think it really does much to cheapen the win. I mean, not where it really matters - the media.
It was really only funny because of the Oregon fans yelling "O" the whole time and us mocking that.

They were overrated. Most of the times I will agree with you about how illogical the chant is, but Oregon was picked by nearly every national media to beat us, and beat us badly. They didn't, and outside of their wildest dreams, they never had a chance. Not that they aren't a good team, they are a top 10 team, but they are not better than LSU like many thought that they were. And it was fun as shite to hold up those gay "O"s for "overrated" instead of "oregon".

People look way much into the overrated chant. It is the fans trying to say you suck, we are better. Is is gay? Yes. Is it pointless? Yes. Does it make the win cheap? Well frick you if you think last night was cheap because people said overrated.

At this point its a subconscious reaction by all fans after a whoopin near the end of the game. And the SEC SEC SEC chant that morphed out of the LSU LSU LSU chant. Id like to see that geaux away. Just chant LSU LSU LSU, stop with the SEC SEC SEC and OVERRRRRAAATTTTEEEDDDD
eta: the OVERRATED chant goes for all teams in major college games and most all pro games.

I really enjoy how Big Ten and Pac 12 teams hate/misunderstand the "SEC" chant. They always call in the shows here and say that they can't figure out why we do it.
We try to tell'em, but they don't get it..."The teacher can't teach until the student is ready to learn." --Some kind of Chinese proverb.
