My take on all this. OU, A&M, Mizzzou, VT, Clemson, OSU, FSU, UNC

Looks like we add 2 then another 2 if not all 4 at once.
A&M, as good as a done team. Good fit into West. Welcome
OU, good fit, will tell really miss a chance to frick with Texas? SEC wants them but do they want in? (40/60) Will get offer. A top target. But I think they like 8 easy wins every year.
Mizzo, willing to suck Slive off to get in. Decent fit, but SEC may not offer, maybe fallback if OU doesnt want it. Decent fit, but a freaking border state. Will take offer if they get it. If not Big ten will reconsider and offer a bid to compete with new Super conference SEC. Think USC is last expansion was fallback but would work out ok. (30/70)
Virginia Tech, Should have been in SEC long ago Like Clemson but what happens when Beamer leaves. Football fit but other sports not great. They will jump though if they get offer. (60/40)
Clemson, The football team in the basketball conference. With rivals UGA and SC already in SEC and FSU soon too this is a shoe in only question is in first 2 or next too. Not been great lately but great tradition and other sports are fine. (70/30)
FSU, another perfect fit. Was discussed long ago, but will Florida use its veto. With Jimbo Fisher there you know he will push for it. If UM gets death penalty maybe UF will let them in. They will take offer this time. (80/20)
UNC, trying to get better at football would be huge basketball draw. But unlikely but worth talking about. (20/80)
OSU, only if we have too package deal with OU. (20/80)

Let me give you a short history lesson you ignorant bastard.
Missourians fought what was truly a civil war long before Fort Sumter and long after Appomattox. In Missouri it was intensely violent and personal.
During the so called Civil War there were more battles fought in Missouri than any other states except Virginia and Tennessee.
It chaps my arse when so called Southerners scoff at Missouri. If the rest of you went through what they did then you would have surrendered in four days instead of four years.
ETA: Did you know that for a summer Stonewall Jackson lived in present day Mississippi County, Missouri on an island in the Mississippi River near his great aunt and uncle? Did you know that his uncle settled in Ste. Genevieve County, Missouri? I thought not. Educate yourself.

First, the sec doesn't want to expand where they have a current "footprint". That takes out FSU, and Clemson.
Second, Oklahoma, and OK St are joined at the hip politicily. Nobody wants to go to Stillwater. Getting the sooners would be nice, the added cost of the cowboys makes them a bad decision.
That really leaves, aTm, Va tech,Mizzu, and I heard something about the state of north Carolina. UNC makes the most sense, except they are about to get a spanking from the NCAA. That knocks them out.
The only thing that makes sense to me, is going into the big XII for both teams.

The thing for all of us to remember is that all of this is speculation driven, rumor based, and opinion material only. If anyone here really "knows" what will happen, he or she wouldn't be wasting their time with all this guesswork. We just need to wait and watch it play itself out.

Wild, unfounded speculation is what the rant is all about.

I guess we better kick Kentucky out then. Not to mention Tennessee (east TN was pro-Union).

Get over yourself. Misery was a freaking boarder state. Their own people split between north and south. It was personal because neighbor continued to murder neighbors after the war ended because they wanted to punish those who chose to fight along side the south. Why would I make such a claim, my great great grandfather was one of those murdered on his family farm in Misery while his 12 year old son was standing beside him.
This board is not place for history debate. The topic is SEC expansion. Would Misery be a good addition to the SEC? Maybe! They do have two large TV markets in the state which might be good for the SEC but they still have the same split personality they had 150/160 years ago. Those two large markets would not absolutely ad a proportionate number of viewers to the SEC games.
If you want the debate to be about history, the only history that matters is what kind of luck do they have filling up their stadium every week since they have a 5+ mil TV market to draw from? Or maybe, with such a large population base, how are they not looked at as one of the perennial powers of college football?
If they want to play with the big boys it is time they put some asses in the seats and kick some asses on the field.
