BATON ROUGE - LSU senior quarterback Jordan Jefferson and other Tigers football players were implicated in a fight outside a Baton Rouge bar near campus early Friday morning, Baton Rouge Police said.
Public information officer Sgt. Don Stone said police don't know if Jefferson was a suspect or a victim in the incident, which took place about 2 a.m. Friday at Shady's, 623 E. Boyd, south of campus. The investigation was continuing late Friday evening.
Stone said 15 to 20 LSU football players were involved, according to witnesses, but were gone by the time police arrived. Jefferson was recognized but no other players were identified.

BATON ROUGE -- LSU quarterback Jordan Jefferson's status for the season opener on Sept. 3 against No. 3 Oregon may be in doubt as he and many other LSU football players continue to be a focus of a Baton Rouge Police investigation into a fight outside a bar near campus early Friday morning.
"This investigation will continue into the weekend," Baton Rouge Police spokesman Sgt. Don Stone said Friday night.
No one has been arrested, Stone said, but he said Jefferson was identified to police by multiple witnesses at the scene in a parking lot near Shady's bar on Boyd Drive, which is only a few blocks from Tiger Stadium.
"There was a fight outside the bar, and four people were sent to the hospital," Stone said. "Jordan Jefferson has been implicated as being involved as well as other football players, who have not been specifically identified yet. We're not calling Jefferson a suspect. We're not calling him a victim. We don't know how much he was involved, but we're getting a lot of information leading us in that direction."

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -
Baton Rouge Police say LSU quarterback Jordan Jefferson "and several other LSU football players" were implicated by witnesses as being involving in a fight in the parking lot of a bar near campus, a police spokesman said.
Several people who claim to have witnessed the incident tell 9NEWS that around 2 a.m., a young man driving a truck blew his horn to get a group of people blocking the driveway to move at Shady's on E. Boyd Ave. That's when they say a group of people pulled the driver out of the truck and began beating him. When a friend of the driver, a Marine who had just returned from training, ran to assist the driver, he was also beaten and thrown to the ground. Ten people who claim to have witnessed the incident say LSU quarterback Jordan Jefferson then kicked the Marine in the head.

Sgt. Don Stone of the Baton Rouge Police Department confirmed to The Daily Reveille on Friday afternoon that quarterback Jordan Jefferson, 20, has been implicated as being involved in a fight outside of Shady's Bar between 1:30 and 2 a.m. on Friday morning.
"We're not naming him as a suspect, but witness information leads to believe there's a good possibility that he was present at the time of the fight," Stone said.
Stone said four people were injured and took themselves to the hospital, and they have all been released with minor injuries.
Baton Rouge resident Andrew Lowery said he was involved in the altercation. He would not comment further, but said he has hired a lawyer.
