If A&M joins the SEC you can bet that Bama will send Auburn to the East. This will allow Bama to recruit more in Texas. They would love to play in Texas every other year to pump their brand. Posted this on recruiting board thought it might make a good topic here.

No..SEC would probably put two teams in the conference, not just TAMU. That would send AU/Bama to the East.

1. Why would Bama be able to unilaterally move Auburn to the East?

2. There has to be another team added to the West to make this work. A&M plus Mizzou/Oklahoma etc, then I agree...Auburn goes to the East.

This will cause other issues however. Bama would want to play both Tennessee and Auburn every year, and that just wouldn't be possible if both were in the East.

In Bama the talk is about the times when Bama wins the West and Aub wins the East

It's possible. The conference could go back to the two permanent cross division rivals system.

OU won't leave Texas. A&M hates Texas at a deep level even going to the administrative and regents level. Not just an athletics type of thing, but a deep seated hate. OU on the other hand is a rival with Texas on the field, but there is no competition in academics and very little animosity from other areas.

Bama runs the league. How many folks from Louisiana do you think work in the the SEC home office? Nick calls the shots and he will want to own Texas.
