Only crown I'll drink is Crown Cask #16 and it runs about $90 for a fifth.

It's good. Especially for mixing. I just always forget about it.

and Canadian Mist is $20 for a handle.

I love drinking crown but I can also slum it with a $10 handle for a month and be damn happy.

I tried some Blanton's a couple of weekends ago. It was the shite.

+1 on the Canadian Mist for cheaper alternative.

Albertsons Heritage brand blended whisky (not the Canadian blend). Look for it on the bottom shelf! Not perfect but close enough especially if you mix wit 7up!

Yeah, Buffalo Trace is good.

Get 'em Seagrams 7. They'll never know the difference. Or, Canadian Mist like someone else said.

I don't like Crown, too sweet for my taste. But when I have people over, inevitably someone asks for it. Which canadian shite tastes most like it so I can placate these plebeians for a lower cost?

I heard this also. Never tried Northern Lights yet though. But I do love me some Crown and water.
