Miles presser up

they just put the press conference up. Hearing miles talk makes me feel a lot better about the situation. Krag is still apart of the offense just not handling all of the other responsibilities LINK.

What i took from this was that Les is the man, Krag is a good guy, and JJ will be the starter all season

Krag is still apart of the offense

Possibly the best presser Miles has ever given

So does "winning" and "winnining"

This is all anyone needs to know:
quote:
“This promotion for Greg gives us reason to not miss a beat and to con-tinue on. First, Kragthorpe is going to be in every huddle, every play call and in the press box. He will assist fully with game plan and the passing game will be called with him and (wide receivers coach/passing game co-ordinator) Billy Gonzales’s thumb on it. Coach Studrawa will understand how to get it done.”

I think this is a very defining statement. CLM has made sure that STUD understands how the system will work and the STUD has agreed to work within that system and not be a loose cannon
This is the best we may hope for at this hour

Hate to be overly pessimistic, but this has fail written all over it. You have to include Miles, who today admitted to his penchant for meddling (and as the HC he has a right to). So this would add up to a grand total of 4 people whose thumbs will be on the play calling. This is at least 3 too many.
Strong organizations, have strong amounts of accountability. You can only have 1 person accountable for the success or failure of the offense. Is that person now Studrawa? Who gets the glory if the offense plays well? Who walks the plank if they don't?
Hate to compare to the Saints, but is there any doubt who is in charge of the Saints offense? How about the Saints defense?

Amen. And no, this doesn't make me happy.

No. There will be 4 people involved in the game planning (Which there was always anyway), NOT in the play calling during a game...That will be up to Stud (and I guess some of Les). There is a BIG BIG difference between game planning and play calling.

Sounds like a "CLUSTER FUDGE" of play calling committee.
BUT! I have faith in Corch Miles to make it work.

If it was announced tomorrow that Gregg Williams had Parkinson's and was stepping down to LB coach, would there be any doubt?

Anyone else feel Miles looked completely in control of the room? He was on every question like a flash and sounded pretty good too. Just an observation.

I hear you, and we may be splitting hairs, but read Les' quote again. He is speaking to how the plays will be called. I seriously doubt there will be 4 people calling plays, but I also think that it's important that we have an identity on offense. We haven't had one for a long time.
4 thumbs don't make for an identity, they make for confusion. Look back on recent history. This has the makings of 2008 Malleveto. The trappings are there. I hope Miles learned from his mistakes. There can only be one general, not 4.
Who's offense will this be? Stud's or Kragthorpe's .... or Miles'. Color me confused. I hope it gets cleared up before Oregon.

How many people do you think are involved in most major college programs offense?

Yes, because why would he step down if he was still in charge.
If Stud is the OC, he needs to live and die with HIS offense, not Kragthorpe's.

Several, obviously. But only one can be in charge. Can you tell me who is in charge? If we struggle against Oregon, who will be held responsible?
