On TOS. Five visits to Bama already. And another writer saying that he really like Bama.
If we lose this cat, it would be the biggest shock. Bigger than McKnight and just as big as Janzen. Reed was also big but Collins might be one of the top 3 players in America.
I can see a LA wanting to go to South Beach or Hollywood. But Alabama.
Coach Cooper coaches DBs as good or better than anyone in the country.

Saban knows where the real players r from.

Not bashing the kid. I just wanted to pass on some information. I figured you guys would want to be informed. LSU has faced this almost every year.
2011 - Robinson
2010 - Reed
2009 - Jackson
on and on......
But Collins would make the most coveted prospect to leave the state since McKnight. IMO, Collins will be a much better collegiate and pro prospect.
I'm just saying....

He had family this weekend on his visit to Bama. Obviously, its going to come down to the wire, but its going to be hard for him to pass up on us considering how good our young, defensive backfield is at this point.

Wouldn't a younger backfield drive him away? Less of a chance to play early?
FWIW I still think he's LSU's to lose...

Reuben Randle part 2. Just a hunch, but I really do think this kid ends up a Tiger, he's enjoying the recruiting process and I think Lacy is in his ear and the kid is having fun with the attention from the Tide. We trump Lacy with Reid and I think that is a huge deal in this recruitment. The good thing is that our program does not have to have anybody anymore.

If he comes to LSU, both Loston and Reid would be upperclassmen. If either one of them have back-to-back great seasons, I could see one of them going pro early. Heck, Loston could go after this season. Doubt it, but he could because he would be three years removed from hs.

What did Coppage post on bama website regarding Collins tidbits?
Posted on 8/1/11 at 11:20 pm to Toughcrittercrumb1
Is this news? LC likes Bama. We already knew and probably didn't need another article about it. He's Lsu's to lose according to Shea and multiple other sources. The kid seems to really like Bama too but there is a lot in the lsu corner when he chooses like Eric Reid, Dwayne Thomas, his family, etc. Try to chill, relax, and enjoy the season.
Ftr, if LC does choose bama, cue the rant meltdown since devall isn't choosing lsu. That would make 3 of the top 4 in state players leaving state for the 1st time since the Gerry Dinardo era...

crittercrumb,
you're not allowed to fret over LC without inside info. He's playing it close to the vest.

I hope we get LC and I know LSU has a good defensive coaching staff. Coach Cooper maybe a good DBs coach but Saban is the best college defensive mind in the country and he was a former DBs coach. LC is choosing between 2 top quality staffs. It's just a matter of where he is most comfortable.

Collins is a monster, but if there is 1 position that wouldn't hurt for LSU to lose someone, Safety is that spot.

Saban has put countless DBs into the NFL, where they have gone on to achieve great success. There is no comparison.
