I'm going to get some shite for this, but Doe's Eat Place has decent tamale's with an awesome chili on top.

I'm a fan of the Doe's tamales.

I'm still waiting to be crucified by all the Doe's haters on this board. At least I know I'm not the only one who likes them.

get you some tamales from Steve's, go home and fix yourself a tamale dog....hot dog+tamale+chili - all on the same bun.

A sack of Manuels at the grocery store is just fine for me.

There's far too much of that kind of stuff on this board, which keeps me away from it.
As for Doe's - tried them when they first came and was kind of "ehhh" on them - but that's been years, so maybe time for another try.

Did someone reopen Manuel's? I don't think so, but if I'm wrong, please enlighten!

Do you mean someone's selling Manuel's? Where?

I read about it a couple of months ago on here somewhere it was in a NOLA article. ETA in BR a very good alternative from the store is Mickeys' out of Houma, which I do pick up at Mathernes'.
