With the pre-order starting today and news of early access to the game, I checked out the website to find answers to a few questions I had. Thought I'd share them here in case anyone else had the same questions.

Q: How long is the pre-order period?
A: As long as supplies last. Collector's Edition is already sold out for most retailers.

Q: How much does the game cost?
A: Collectors $149.99 / Digital Deluxe $79.99 / Standard $59.99

Q: With the start of pre-order, is there now an official release date?
A: No.

Q: If I pre-order, do I get early access to the game?
A: Almost certain. There is one spot on the website that says pre-order customers "may" get early access, but everything else seems to guarantee that. With your purchase, you will receive a code that must be redeemed through Origin.

Q: Is there an official start date for early access?
A: No.

Q: How will I know when the early access period starts?
A: EA/Origins will announce the start on their website. All pre-order customers who have redeemed their early access code will receive one email when the game client is available for download, and another when the game is open for early play.

Q: Will all of my character progress in early access carry over when the game is officially launched?
A: Yes.

Q: If I have a registered guild, can we participate as a guild in early access?
A: Yes, if the guild has at least four members who have pre-ordered and redeemed their early access code.

Hope that helps.

I went all out and pre-ordered the collector's edition from Amazon. I don't spend much money, so it's not a big deal.

Is anyone here already involved in a pre-launch guild from the official forums? Freauxzen and I, and some others were considering starting a guild on the Republic side.

Ya I think I posted our Guild here a month ago or so. We don't have many peeps yet. Suspect we'll get most when game actually goes live since "our" clique in other games is pretty good size.

It was said they are shooting for release "Holiday 2011". So that probably means a week before x-mas. So I'm guessing getting early access thru pre-ordering will be a week before that.

I bought the Digital Deluxe since I didn't need a music CD or map or figurine.

But the personal store sounded cool.

I will pre-order here in the next week or so. Would enjoy getting in with your guild. Any info you can share on that would be appreciated.

Im in beta, its pretty slick. Pretty laggy on some planets and the transportation kinda blows at times but its pretty solid for being in beta. I took a break from testing to beat witcher 2 but I plan on getting back at it soon

I'd be down as well. And I'll actually have a solid rig as I'm building one to take to college with me

I can't wait for this game. Been reading about it, and while it isn't SWG pre-NGE, it sounds like a solid game with room for the devs to add sandbox elements. They've said in interviews they hope to balance theme park and sandbox content.
