Curado E7 vs. Revo SX

So I have a buddy that gets pro deal discounts and can get me both of these for basically the same price. Anyone have/use both? Will be for freshwater use 95% of the time except for an annual inshore trip.
What I am hearing is the curado is a workhorse but the revo is a littler smoother and casts a touch farther but can be finicky. I take good care of my gear so leaning towards the Revo SX. Am I making the right choice?

I have both. You really can't go wrong with either. You can cast a mile with either one, the Revo is a tad smoother if it's smoother at all. The magnetic brakes on the SX are a bitch to get used to using, compared to centrifugal brakes, but once I got it right I've been able to pick up and cast it a mile in 10+ mph wind without adjustment. I haven't fished in a sick wind with the Curado yet so I can't comment on that.
You really can't make the wrong choice here both are great reels
ETA the Revo SX I have isn't the high speed like the E7, it's the 6.4:1 gear ratio. Not that I think it makes a difference in performance.

The duel brakes are selling my on the SX as well. I have used my buddies (already set) and really didn't even need to use my thumb it basically just stopped when the baits hit the water.
Honestly though I have pretty much always been a Shimana guy with spinning reels in the past and they have never let me down so that is why I am still hesitant; purely the longevity/reliability aspect i guess. Sounds like the Revo has held up for you though?
I'm not a baitcaster newb but only haver cheaper ones just looking to upgrade.

My SX is almost a year old and I have three Revo S's ranging from 1-3 years old. Never had a problem with any of them, I take pretty decent care of my gear. The only issue I've had with any Abu Garcia product actually is with a silver max I bought 4 years ago refurbished that shat out on me recently. The Revos are nearly bulletproof with limited maintenance, I wouldn't let longevity be a factor in choosing either the Revo or the Curado, they should both hold up just fine.

Cant go wrong with either but I would go with the SX. I have 5 of them and absolutely love them.

Never used a Revo but I LOVE my new Curado. It's very versatile and great in the wind. Mine reeled in a limit of trout yesterday.

I couldn't be any happier with my Curado. About two years old now and I have never had a single problem. But like most said you can't really go wrong with either. I'd recommend you try to take both out and see which one you like better on the water. That's the only way you would know for sure

i had a couple of revo-s for 2-3 years, loved them, then within a matter of days of each other, the worm gears failed. i have no idea why, tried to fix tehm. ended up sending them back to abu garcia and they send me two revo-sx's. no problems with them so far, been a year. anything with stainless steel bearings wil work for salt water

Used curados for years. Bought a pflueger supreme a couple of years ago and liked it so much i bought two more. Best performing reel I have ever owned. I think they replaced the supreme with the president.
