My wife and I just finished watching 'Taken' and 'Unknown' back to back. 'Taken' is one of my favorite recent action flicks and I think 'Unknown' is pretty decent.

While we were watching them we got into a disagreement about Neeson's acting. My wife called him wooden and awkward, but to me he comes across as more believable and(searching for a word and failing) stoic.

Any opinions on his new turn as an action star?

Come on, we all know that designation belongs to the great Barry Bostwick.

Let's not get carried away. I realize this is subjective and he's in my top 20, but Daniel Day-Lewis is the greatest modern actor. And it's not really close.

Don't get me wrong. Neeson is great, but not the GOAT.

I can see why she said that after watching Taken. He was extremely awkward in that, outside of when he was laying the smack down. But it was intentional.

What other Neeson movies has she seen?

She's seen Michael Collins and Schindler's List(and Star Wars of course) but she doesn't remember him.

Rob Roy for the win, and one should never forget his Oscar worthy performance in the cinematic masterpiece known as Krull.

Are we seriously going to have a discussion about Liam without Krull and Darkman?

He's great in everything. Thought he made a good Hannibal in A-Team, but I had to skip Kinsey...seeing him kissing another dude just wasn't for me...

When they described Unknown as Taken + The Bourne Identity unironically in the trailer, I decide not to watch it

Great actor imo.

'Taken' and 'Unknown'

Both of these were good, but Taken was better.

Priest Vallon on Gangs of New York. In fact Daniel Day Lewis kills Liam Neeson therefore making DDL the greatest actor.
