This place is going to be my go to when I have a Mexican craving.

Stopped by on Saturday for lunch, and the place was pretty empty. A waitress promptly came to our table and got our drink orders and gave us chips and salsa. The tortilla's were freshly fried, and the salsa had a good balanced taste. They gave you both a verde and rojo salsa.

I can't remember the name of what I ordered, but it was a good size strip of steak, served with two fried eggs and tortilla's topped with half "special mexican verde sauce" and half with the rojo version. This wasn't salsa, but some incredibly tasty concoction. I am going back this weekend, because I have been craving this all week. The girlfriend just got shrimp tacos, and they were good, nothing spectacular. You could tell the used fresh ingredients, and the shrimp was cooked correctly. Both of our meals came with black beans in a pureed form. Her's also came with a Mexican rice that looked dry and bland, but was surprisingly packed with flavor. To end the meal, we got their snowballs that were made with fresh fruit. Screw Plum St. It is snowball ice with pieces of whatever fruit they have on hand and sugar. That day they had watermelon and mango.

I have no clue how authentic this place is, and I don't care. I am a big fan.

sounds like the real deal. sounds real good. the black beans lead me to think that the style is more west coast than the typical jalisco style mexican food in this region.

I really like Panchintas...their variety of homemade salsas are usually good.
