Will it be remembered as the dirtiest (ie most fraudulent) championship game ever played?

It is hard to know, but given what we know I say yes.

What do we know?

As far as know there is no question the 2005 game was the dirtiest (most fraudulent).

We know it appears that both teams in last year's game were cheating (and my question asks how people will remember the game).

There has been no indication that the 2005 Longhorns were cheating (although that doesn't mean they weren't).

I thought the game itself was well-played. The teams involved may have had scandals surrounding them but that doesn't affect how the game was played.

1996 Fiesta Bowl

Florida - One team starts dominating the SEC in the dirtiest conference.
Nebraska - goes from never being able to be a Top 5 team in 20 tries from the late 1970's to 1995.

Steroid abuse rampant at NU with chemically enhanced white guys and drugs, criminal charges, and payouts with Florida.

Hmmm? Oh and there was Lawrence Phillips who dragged his girlfriend down a flight of stairs by her weave and Dr. Tom still played him in the Natty Championship game.

So with Spurrier and Osborne this game had a low ceiling for integrity. It was the sell out game for both schools.

But this is all just speculation. Carry on.

If by speculation you mean a bunch of shite a crybaby Penn State, mad about 94 just made up, then, yes, its speculation.

Hmmm, well. I have never heard any rumblings about that Florida team cheating.

You can extrapolate from Lawrence Phillips.

And you can also be the only person on the planet that thinks NU found the only non-roided fast-twitch and muscled white guys in America.

Pretty impressive to correctly use 'they're' once in the sentence while using 'their' two others times incorrectly.

No, because I'd venture to guess that every other title game was just as dirty(or close to it), it just wasn't public.

The 2005 Orange Bowl doesn't have a winner. That officially makes it the dirtiest one.

As much as we don't like it, Cam Newton was declared eligible.

In last year's game, an eligible team won. In the 2005 Orange Bowl, no eligible team won.

NU won the MNC in 94 and Penn State didn't.

I do not know, nor do I care if NU had roided players. I will go out on a limb and say if they did, they were not the only ones. So I don't know how that's relevant.

What I do know is you are extremely biased against the 95 Nebraska team to the point of irrationality.

Good point. My original question asked about perceptions, though, not technical eligibility.
