"yet LSU keeps on winning." This arsehole Bob Neal just said this on Sportsnite on Comcast in Atl. These lazy arse sports journalists in Georgia are have such an inferiority complex when it comes to Louisiana sports teams and fans. He said all our talent comes from Mississippi and Texas. His stupid as co-host Matt Chernoff said "Louisiana is no Georgia or Florida." How could it be you fukkin asswipe? The numbers don't even come close as far as population.

What a moron. I agree that this year's Louisiana class may be somewhat thin, but last year was a banner crop. Does he even follow recruiting?

Yeah numbers wise you wont have as much talent, but Louisiana is pretty stacked for such a small state.

Those guys are morons.

Doesn't Louisiana produce more NFL players per capita than any other state?

This is the kind of shiznit I have to put up with living out here. They equated the state of Louisiana to Tennessee as far as high school talent.

Numbers wise, we don't have what those two have because they are much larger states. Per capita, we are much better. It's primarily because of demographics.

It is always between La and Mississippi. The difference is Mississippi is getting raped each year by other programs including LSU. If one of the Mississippi teams "puts a rope" around their state and keep the talent in, they will end up being like LSU and Tulane are today and be one fo the best programs year in adn year out.

Louisiana has some great athletes. Id offer some explanation though that the per capita numbers are skewed by the fact that LA has a much higher percentage of black population and blacks make up about 70% (guessing) of the NFL.

I'm not sure which year it was, but Tennessee had less than 10 guys who could play DI football. Yeah. Much better than Louisiana.

Thanks in large part to a whopping 26 players from the New Orleans area, Louisiana has more players per capita in the NFL than any other state, according to a report by USA Football, the sport's national governing body on youth and amateur levels that puts out an annual study on the subject.

According to the study, there is one NFL player for every 55,862 people in Louisiana.

Louisiana has 80 players in the NFL overall, which ties with Georgia for fifth in terms of total numbers. California (205) has the most natives in the NFL, followed by Texas (179), Florida (176) and Ohio (90).

I guess I wrote that wrong. Was trying to say, how LSu started getting all of the talent and Tulane's program dropped off once LSU improved recruiting in-state which could happen if either Ole Miss or MSU "puts a rope" around mississippi.

Per capita La. produces more D-1 football players than any state in the union, and it's not even close. Not sure about NFL but wouldn't be surprised.

you should call them and ask them to explain why ranked LA high school teams routinely beat the shite out of ranked high school teams from other parts of the country with less talent.
