Everyone was saying that the bottom was going to drop out of crawfish prices in June because of the high river. What changed?

I've heard mixed reports about how much crawfish is coming out of the spillway. That combined with what seems to be a high demand would/could keep the price higher than it should be this time of year.

If people keep paying the going rate, why charge less?

The damn fishermen won't come down on the prices. More money in their pockets.

Yellowfin, everywhere I have noticed is still around 1.89/lb live. People were talking lowest prices in 20 years last month. What kind of prices are you seeing?

The stand that has them on Airline, between Seigan and Kleinpeter has them for 1.50 right now. Even has a huge arse banner stating 1.50.

No clue as to quality or size though.

If you go check them out it is 1.50 for small and 1.99 for "select". Coworker got the small ones from them, they were tiny.

I bought some basin crawfish from a distributor on New Iberia yesterday for $1.30/lbs. They were wonderfully delicious.

either way you were raised basin crawfish is disgusting when compared to pond crawfish. When I mean disgusting I just mean compared to pond crawfish.

Clueless. The fishermen DO NOT set prices- not even close.

Not everyone cause I sure wasn't. On the contrary, I said it would have little, if any, effect.
