“I tracked every game all week that was being played in conference tournaments, and tracked how it affected RPIs for other teams and how it affected ours, and honestly, I thought we were in. By my calculation, and I’m certainly bias about it, but I thought we were in. I felt like we deserved to be,” said LSU’s skipper. “When I saw some of the schools going up there in the early part of the selection show, quite frankly, I didn’t even think that they were in the competition with us for the bid, so obviously I was very surprised about some of the selections.”
Players chimed in too

How elated are you that LSU didn't get in?

It really did not matter to me. A bit disappointed at the lack of LSU teams (LSU included) because I really like local baseball teams.

But CPM should not have been saying such things. His whining is way out of line.

Why do you think that? He feels his team deserves to be in. I certainly don't fault the man for stating his opinion.

I agree, he should be taking responsibility for his teams unacceptable performance this season. Failing to make the sect, a weak ooc schedule, and your only ooc road games being in your own state against cream puffs are not going to get you in the ncaa tourney. Whining about getting screwed is what losers do.

Same thing head coaches in football do about bcs selections, and your boy Pete C. and Lane K. are two of the best.

He agreed to the system of selection. He can't whine, complain, and should not have been campaigning beforehand.

It's a tradeoff. Maybe LSU should schedule some better competition if they want to stay home for a month.

Live and learn, hopefully LSU can learn from this season and do something to improve on the next. I think getting bumped this year may be a blessing in disguise.

Not really. PM complained and I understand, he is disappointed. It's not like he is Lane Kiffin or anything.

Yep and it won't matter. LSU isn't going to trade off money to play in front of 500 people. I also think that guy was flat out lying. LSU was left out because there was no one in the room to stand up for them. The committee put together to pick is an absolute JOKE. St. John's was put in and LSU left out because St. John's had a member on the board PERIOD.
