"The way things were last year, I was in no situation to be successful," said Jefferson…

Really?

1st & 10 from McNeese's 15 yd line is not a good enough situation? Or a wide open Peterson on a 12 yd roll-out?

That's the talk of a league worst qb.

I read it earlier. Thought the same thing. Is that the words of a leader or a loser? Sad, simply sad. I don't like putting down on our own players but I am looking forward to his graduation.

Really strange because after games like McNeese and ULM JJ was quoted as saying he thought he played fine! Did he all of a sudden go back and look at film and realize how bad he sucked?

He can blame the offensive scheme all he wants but the scheme doesnt make u throw the ball at receivers feet, behind them or over their head right into a db's hands.

+1

Also, this is what makes Jarret Lee a likeable guy. He has always accepted responsibility for his mistakes, never made excuses, and never made asinine statements like this one, which isn't the first time Jefferson has said such things.

He will use excuses for being terrible this year too. One more year and we won't have to hear his ignorant mouth again. Like sayin he was happy mett was coming so he would have someone to push him. What about lee who saved his arse on many occasions? Atleast lee is smart enough not to throw team members under the bus. In fact he admitted that he wasn't very good in a press conference.

Yep you hear the propaganda about JJ becoming a leader in the spring and so forth from the staff and even giving him the Jim Taylor award and then JJ goes out and acts like same old JJ in an interview.

Before Miles goes out and tries to convince the fanbase that JJ has turned into a leader might be a good idea to get JJ to actually act like one instead of a whiny brat!

After spring, he plays the same and speaks the same. Maybe it's les's grand scheme to make ppl think he is the same, then shock the world. I mean obviously krag can heal the sick and all so maybe JJ will win the heisman this year.

No position to be successful?

JJ - you plain arse sucked for 3 freaking years in a row. Not only did your play suck but your attitude sucked. You have been nothing close to a leader on the field. When you frick up, you sit on the bench and sulk, like a punk kid.

Should we really expect something different from you than your 1st 3 years on the field? Should we count on Kragthorpe being some kind of offensive genius savior? Didn't we hear the same line about Gonzales and the passing game, which failed last year.

Expect the same and if it ends up better - great. JJ - please, I hope you make the best of your final year as a Tiger. If you are unable to step up to the task, I only wish that Miles does the right thing. Miles needs to give the other 84+ hard working kids on the team an opportunity to win by putting a QB on the field that can get it done.

But we will hear stupid people say, "he is in the top 10 in Lsu history." only because he has played many more games than others. All of the recent qbs have better numbers. Ppl just aren't smart enough to understand that 12th out of a 12 team conferece is what he really ranks. Forget Lsu history. He needs to be better than someone who plays now.

JJ has no problem making excuses and taking up for himself, that's for sure.

Jordan Jefferson is the root cause of LSUs recent offensive mishaps. That guy couldn't read a defense if the opposing team told him what plays they were running.

I love how the OP pulled out the one line to stir shite up. Why not post the entire quote?

quote:

"The way things were last year, I was in no situation to be successful," said Jefferson, whose 114.7 passer rating didn't even crack the top 10 among SEC QBs. "We were a run, run, pass offense, and on third down it was obvious that I was scrambling almost every time to make plays."

Can you disagree with that?

In no way do i think jefferson isnt to blame for a lot of our offensive struggles, but the hate and bashing this kid receives on here is ridicolous.

quote:

"He's a guy that was underappreciated by his fans," said Alabama linebacker Dont'a Hightower, who expects the SEC West to be won by either the Tide or Tigers. "He's the type of QB you don't want to blitz the house against. One mistake could turn into a 30- or 40-yard run."

Donta speaks the truth.

Even though I think he could have used better words... I agree with him to a point. The QBs, not just him, didn't get much help from players around him. Many holding calls and false starts put them in long yard situations way too much. WRs dropped way too many passes. OC with as much creativity as a box of marbles. And piss poor fan support.

Anyone who doesn't have their head up their arse could clearly see both QBs had plenty of help fricking up.
