Actors, such as Bale, on steroids?

I have found it odd that Christian Bale was able to weigh in at a mere 98lbs for the machinist and bulk up shortly thereafter to 240lbs for Batman. He also has a notoriously bad temper and I was wondering if I am the only person that believes steropoids are commons place and provided by trainers to actors in the movie industry.
I also wonder about Brad Pitt when he played in Troy.
Am I offbase with these assumptions or do you agree with me. Can you name any other questionable bulk ups by actors for specific roles?

For such a dramatic change it sure is a possibility that Bale took them. I would imagine there are some actors that dabble with roids.

I've always assumed that most actors that bulk up quickly for movies use steroids.

I thought the same thing about Ed Norton when he went from Fight Club to American History X. or vice versa.

I'd be shocked if this weren't true, steroids aren't a huge leap from plastic surgery, botox, etc. I'm sure HGH is like water in hollywood.

"actors using roids? STFU!"
signed- Sylvester Stallone

Sylvester Stalone admitted to using steroids for "Rocky".
I'm pretty darn sure a lot of actors do it if they are getting paid millions to look ripped.
I don't think Toby Miguire did any steroids for Spiderman only because little dudes can get ripped easier than bigger guys.

Charlie Sheen looked like he roided up for Hot Shots part deux

Linda Hamilton admitted to using them for T2. I'm sure it happens quite a bit. Also these guys can literally have the best dieticians and trainers at their disposal courtesy of the studios for like 6 months leading up to the filming.

Found this on cracked, 8 non-athletes who've gotta be on steroids
Posted on 5/26/11 at 10:58 am to DanTiger
Yeah since time is a factor and roids are a quick way to bulk up I 100% believe that some actors will dabble in them or HGH

The % of movie stars on roids/HGH is probably higher than the % of pro athletes on roids.
well maybe not but it is still a shite ton.
Look at how big guys like Jake Gyllenhal(Prince of Persia) get for their summer blockbuster movies.
Even guys that stay somewhat small but get incredibly ripped like Toby Mcguire for Spiderman have to be on something.

The producers of the film claim that Christian Bale dropped from about 173 pounds in weight down to about 110 pounds in weight to make this film. They also claim that Bale actually wanted to drop down to 100 pounds, but that they would not let him go below 120 out of fear that his health could be in too much danger if he did. His diet consisted of one can of tuna and an apple per day.
Not quite as far of a weight loss you said, but I agree with you. If we wasn't taking steroids, HGH, or anything of that nature; it had to be everything but.

In Fast Five, the guy that plays Vince looks like he put on 40 lbs. of muscle since the first movie back in 2001

40 lbs of muscle in 10 years =/= roids

I think there are plenty of entertainment industry folks taking steroids.
To argue the other side, if you give a Hollywood a-lister 6-12months to get in shape he is going to be taking the best "legal" options out there, have the best trainers, a lot of free time, and the best nutrition/nutritionist. We could all make amazing body transformations under those conditions without the use of drugs.
