LSU could win that regional.

Houston Regional
Host: Rice {8}
1. Rice (CUSA Automatic) 38-18 #10
4. Illinois (B10 Automatic) 25-25 #153
2. Baylor (B12 at large) 29-24 #27
3. LSU (SEC at large) 36-20 #25
Rice a national seed? Did I read that right?

Would love it
I think the committe is going to put LSU in the place that it would help that particular regional to make money! Similar to last year when we took over UCLA!

They've got a shot.
This regional would be pretty ideal.

No doubt. So in this scenario, if we win the Rice regional we'd get sent to A&M for supers? (assuming they win)

SE baseball tends to be a little biased but the thing I like about this projection is LSU isn't one of the last 5 in.

Wow, hadn't noticed that on first take. Not sure I agree that Rice is a national seed, but their RPI is 10. Hadn't looked at RPI in a while and noticed that Fulelrton is at 11. I wonder if CSF gets a national seed considering the NCAA usually likes at least some regional balance. I assumed that the 2 out west would be ASU and Oregon State, but OSU really fell hard as of late.

Rice was ranked 19th by Baseball America last week and I don't think they are going to miss a nat seed by that much.
These clowns also don't have USM as a host. Joke. They will be hosting a regional.

I think you are right. And if so, why would the committee not send us to H'burg?

Extremely winnable regional, we always play Rice it seems...

Because it would be the death of Southern Miss

This would almost be a best case senario for LSU...
However, if by some chance it turns out correct, & we go on to a Super Regional with Texas A&M, I don't know if I could stand losing to them in both basaeball & softball...

Meh, USM losing 4 of last 5 is a bit of a concern. Fresno losing this weekend helped.

Don't like SLU at Austin. I know, they won't make it out anyway.
