I'd like to hear what they thought of a 7th grader touching 82 mph (on the gun). Kid just made 13.

i am a scout, that is very fast. by the time he's a senior, he will be pitching in the 105-110 range.

I highly doubt he'll be in the 105-110 range.

on the real though, if the kid is topping out at 82 at 13 years old, it's not the college scouts that you should be looking for.

No. Dad won't let it happen. He plays catcher a lot. Dad played college ball and knows he needs to save his arm.

Just depends on how the kid matures as he gets into high school

Lake Charles had a couple of kids throwing in that range at 12 years old at the Little League World Series a few years ago. I think one of them touched 80-81 MPH on the gun.

Not a scout, hope his parents and coaches don't wear his arm out for the exposure.

What they need to do is take him to a PT specialist. My brother who's 17 just had a minor elbow injury and went to see one that showed him stretches to rehab it but he said it loosened his arm up and that his velocity even rose. I would recommend it just to get some tips on that. If he's throwing that at his age, the scouts will come find him

6'2" lefty just finished his junior year who has hit 86 and has a good change-up.

If my kid had that kind of velocity at that age I would limit his pitching and stick him in the outfield until the appropriate time in his career. I have seen guys with that kind of velocity before at a young age and they all peaked way too early and were not effective later in their career.
