Sent to minor league complex outside Phoenix for an MRI on his pitching elbow today for those interested.

Considering the dodgers are almost bankrupt, you know they are regretting drafting lee.

I still remember that douche bag from the Dodgers thumping his chest about what a master negotiator he was to get Lee. You offered him 5.25 MILLION DOLLARS jackass. Of course he was gonna choose baseball.

Terrible news. But it underscores why a kid takes the money when he has the opportunity.

If this kind of injury had happened while pitching for LSU it could have cost him millions. He had no choice once they started throwing that kind of money at him.

Lee isn't what made them bankrupt, you know that....

Not having the proper paper work in the divorce is going to make him bankrupt with apparent shady business practices as well.

I understand this sentiment, and I don't fully know what the situation with his arm, but if he is really done with baseball I hope he comes to LSU to get his degree.
What if this had happened 4 years from now. Unless you're smart with it (how many 19 yo are?), 5 mil won't last long. And unless he made it through the farm system quickly, he wouldn't be getting paid very big money. It's always good to get an education imo

I think it worked out well for us now. At the time with Rivers and only JJ and JL returning the future wasn't looking so bright. NOw, the sky's the limit.

How does having an MRI on his elbow translate to his career may be over? And $5M goes a lot further than you think, most people don't make that in a lifetime much less 1 check and they do just fine.

I said I didn't know the situation with his arm. It was more of a hypothetical than anything. I was referring to the post that said the injury would have cost him millions had he been at lsu

You're nuts if you think five million won't last long. If you have half of a brain, he won't need to make much if any extra and could live quite nicely.

Ok maybe I exaggerated the point.

But you know when a 19yo gets that cash he's going to drop half a mil on shopping, car, women, life etc. And he has to pay taxes, agents, etc. It goes faster than you think

If his parents aren't idiots, they're getting him to live off the interest coming in on that $5 mil.

Not if he or his family is smart, which from everything we knew prior to him going in the draft they are
