Can we at least challenge ourselves in the least bit in the out of conference schedule.

Yes, I know we played Fullerton but thats just three games out of 12 out of conference weekends

This year our first three weekend opponents Wake Forest, Holy Cross, and Princton. When we played Holy Cross and Princton, they had each practiced a few days outside if any at all!

I know we don't want to play on the road because we want all the home revenue we can get.

Couldn't we at least play a series against a Sun Belt or Southland team at home. Then schedule a home an home with a school like Baylor, TCU, or Houston.

I would also like us to play a series in the fall like Vandy and Texas did this year, because I think it would give everyone around the program an idea of where we stand going into the year. The only draw back is you have to use three games from your spring schedule to play those in the fall.

If premium seating and parking continue to go unused, pull season tickets and parking passes from those people.

Move the K Lady and Guillott to the cheap seats, what entitles them to special priveleges

i don't think this years ooc schedule hurt this team at all. in fact, this team needed a soft pre-season approach. it is what it is; this team can't hit and our bull pen is weak. i still think the automatic small ball strategy got to their heads. but it may not have mattered much as we simply can't hit. if we could, this team would have been much, much, better. it's frustrating for us and PM is probably near suicidal.

LSU only played 3 series against out of conference teams.

Swept Cal St. the # 11 team and the nation.

And Swept Wake Forest who is in the tough ACC and who took 2 of 3 against UNC the #9 team in the nation. Wake also took a game each from Clemson (#16), Florida St. (#6), and Georgia Tech (#13).

So, only 2 series were against teams that were kind of a joke and LSU didn't sweep one of those teams.

Also played 2 week day games against Tulane who was supposed to be good as well (preseason ranked top 25) 1 weekday game against Southern Miss the #15 team in the nation.

That is not to shabby of an out of conference schedule.

EDIT: My bad... 4 OOC series.

Just look at our RPI. ULL, Tulane, USM & other La teams are not soft, and those games always mean more to them than LSU, so we often get their best effort / pitcher.

This hasn't been true in a long time. While those teams really want to beat us, they'd rather win their conference series on the weekend more. A Tuesday night win against LSU won't mean shite if you get swept by Marshall.

LSU is not going to play a home and home with anybody in the near future, so you can forget about that. I do agree that we could play some better teams in the non-conference though. Maybe someone like a Texas State, Troy, South Alabama, etc. Decent mid-majors.

Maybe because they paid for those seats and they will be there this weekend, will you ?

so take tickets from the people that don't show up AND the people that haven't missed a game in years?
