It worked the last time someone invaded America's soil.

This. Anyway, how many people on this board have JUST 30-06's. Most have much more effective weapons of choice. Just sayin'

But we are not talking about a 30-06. You guys have the scale all wrong. No way for there to be 150 guys of invaders to a 30-06. The numbers would be so staggered in favor of the home team it's not even funny.

I understand we are not talking about one 30-06, I am just saying when talking hunters and hunting rifles these are the types of weapons a hunter would have. I also feel that even though the numbers of hunters is large...in states like TX, WY, MT....the people are spread out over large areas...so its harder to be in large groups like you would see with a invading force.

Hell if they hit the west coast today they would make it past colorado pretty easy. They would probably struggle thru Arizona and far west TX.

And if you'll research. History's best snipers had a hunting background.

Makes sense...still don't agree that an experienced hunter is necessarily going to be a better shot than your average combat personnel

No need for a large rifle a .17hmr right behind the ear. I've got a couple thousand rounds of them.

Just knowing that there are people like this lurking out there would be reason enough not to invade IMO

Wouldn't surprise me if they were cannibals.

While i agree no country today would want to invade the US, I just don't think it would be as easy as some make it sound to defend the country and wipe out the invading force..

We have ports all over this country and a good interstate system to move goods...so to think an invading force could not use these would be pretty narrow minded.

They don't have enough teeth between the two of them to be cannibals.

Not to mention the millions of civilians that own much more fire power than a .30-06 bolt gun.

On the surface, maybe, but think about it. How many hunters have any reasonable amount of ammo to have a considerable impact in any uprising of sorts?

On the plus side of your argument, think about how many people have rifles who don't hunt. I haven't hunted deer in YEARS and have two Browning 270's sitting in my gun cabinet. Point is, that number is way higher than just the licenses sold.

Not to mention if the shite really hit the fan and some form of occupation started it wouldn't take long before you could upgrade your hardware if you played your cards right.

and most of the people you would count on, don't have the resources ready to last more than a few days....not to mention even someone that is "well prepared" would probably be out of ammo after the first good gun battle.

How many people would leave there families to go off and fight?

How many would just hunker down at their homes?

How many would just scatter out?

You would have to scavange to survive no question about that.
