Where do they go?

Drake Nevis - 2nd?
Joseph Barksdale - 2nd?
Kelvin Sheppard - middle
Terrance Toliver - late
Stevan Ridley - late

(to me, middle = 3-5; late = 6-7)

Other seniors who probably won't be drafted (can they sign as FAs?) include:

Richard Murphy
Pep Levingston
Jai Eugene

There are probably others so if I forgot anyone post it.

Oh yeah, and

Nevis would easily be #1 any other year. It hurts him that DT's are plenty this year.

Eta: #1 as in first round. Not overall. It's obvious what I meant but you know how these rantsrds get.

Jasper has a tiny chance to get drafted. Helton's gonna be a free agent. He's a good one too

Well, he is a 4-3 DT who is a bit undersized. I read somewhere he's got short arms or something. I think the NFL probably puts too much stock in that kind of thing, but it is their money.

In a league that is increasingly shifting to the 3-4, and that increasingly values bigger DTs or guys who can play inside and out (like Dareus), Nevis' "type" kinda falls through the cracks. He's a specific type of player, and lacks the ideal size for that type.

He's still a beast, in my mind. Wish him the best wherever he lands.

Oh yeah, I forgot about Jasper. He should make a solid NFL kicker.

Not too many kickers get drafted, though. Most are FA signees.

Nevis isn't all that small. Same size as Dorsey and some others when they came out of college.. Had this argument with someone before and I said what you did, but it's false.. He weighed in at 292 in the combine IIRC. I don't know about his arm length though.

I think it is more his frame they are talking about, not his weight. He's 6 foot even with short arms.

As I said, I think the NFL puts too much stock in that sort of thing. IMHO, players can play. Doesn't really matter the package.

But...that might be why he's not considered an elite prospect.

I agree. I think Toliver is the type of player who can flower at the next level. He really developed a bit of a mean streak with Gonzo as the coach this year.

Nevis and Sheppard could go close. Ridley any other year, could also be close. Last year 14 RB's were drafted, this year could be as many as 20..
