Been following LSU sports for about 33 years and the hoops team was one of the worst I've ever seen. Now the baseball team is trying to challenge for the same. Geez.

I'm praying this doesn't carry over to the football team.

1st and 2nd, no out, Hit and run, swing and miss, get hosed at 3rd is brutal.
Just like at Arkansas, 1st and 2nd, no bunt, fly ball to left, tags from 2nd, hosed at 3rd. double play
That's coaching

I honestly don't think lsu will win another series. If pm won't clean house with the coaches, he should be fired. Nc or not. Same shite as last year. I don't want to hear about freshman, new bats. They are playing like crap. They are better and not playing better.

I'm comparing the baseball team to past baseball teams though. I started following them around 85. One of Smokes might have been worse but it's close.

Trent was bad. Paul is coming in a close second. Wonder what Paul's SEC overall record is during 4 and 1/2 seasons ? Not to impressive is it ?

Well...the Great Depression was a more difficult time. I guess sports are not too important. Let's see how Les does this year.

I just think baseball isn't as bad because i truly still believe that with a few little things changed we are right there to have a chance at winning it all. Never felt that way with basketball. For that reason it still gives me hope but it's getting worse by the day

I was hoping that baseball wouldn't take a Q from the basketball teams(men and Women) and tank this season. No there was no way. But I was wrong. it seems like a frieght train heading to open tracks with the entire athletic department. Pray and cross your fingers that the germs are cleared out come football season.

We had a thread earlier today about how the team has not been the same since the Florida series; up until that time, we were on a roll..

Nah, this team may have not quit yet, but they are right on the brink. It isn't a slump we are witnessing, it's a meltdown.

I still believe LSU is as talented or more than any team they are facing, but just losing. In basketball, it was the reverse. There was little talent.

I'm not comparing baseball to basketball guys. I'm comparing teams within the same sport. Since I've been watching LSU baseball I've only seen maybe one worse. One of Smokes......maybe.

This team is not as bad at baseball as the basketball team was at their thing...not even close. We're snakebit. We have the ability to win games. The basketball team was lucky to win 10 games. The baseball team could win 10 in a row and it wouldn't surprise me.

This too shall pass. I'm sick and tired of losing. We just don't have the killer instinct that we had two years ago. I thought we had it in mid March -- especially after sweeping Fullerton. We're not hitting homers...not stealing bases...not chasing pitchers out of games in the 4th inning. We did those things against Wake Forest, Holy Cross, and Princeton. Now I think we all see that the SEC is in baseball what it is in football.

I can pretty much tell you that the 2011 CWS winner will come from this conference. I'm going to go with Florida or SC repeating. Maybe even UGA.

why you say they aren't? Bet after the Fullerton series you thought we did. Do you even watch the games? We are a hit away seems like every night....the hits we do smash are just right at people. I think our 3 starters are good enough to keep us in any ballgame against anyone if we could just post a few runs. so yes, really i think we can could have a CHANCE to beat anyone. Don't really see what has happened for you to say we haven't. Yea losing games obviously hurts but we are just a few plays away every night

There are alot more factors to winning a NC and we don't have several of them. Relief pitching. Clutch hitting. Killer instinct. Upperclass leadership. There are a bunch of missing pieces. This just isn't a championship team. Yes. I've watched them.
