I hate to upset anyone, but JJ has put in the time and has worked his arse off. This spring he has been looking the best. I know I know every spring JJ is a folk hero but this competition is only making him better. No one can run the option like Jordan can which that play became a very effective weapon toward the end of the year and no one has the experince or personnel knowledge he has attained.

JJ started off last year fairly hot coming off a year where he through 19 TDs and 7 int. I was expecting a lot more from him as the year progressed , however he digressed until the final few games of the year where he played like I thought he was capapble (BAma, Ole Miss, and Texas AM).

To sum things up Jordan is in his 4th year as the starting quarterback for the Tigers , that has to stand for something, not to mention he did show signs of improvement. His options have become better, he has turned the balls over less, and he has become more of a vocal leader. He knows the sytem better than anyone and he knows the personnel better than anyone.

Mettenberger is no doubt more talented arm wise than Jefferson but for him to come in and start the first game is asking a little too much, for him and from us. JJ has too much knowledge, too much experience, and to much feel for what it comes to mean to be LSU's QB. I expect JJ to win out the battle rather easily but Mett will push him very hard and will be the Qb of the future...just not the immediate

I don't think anyone honestly expects Mett/Lee to start. Some hope Mett/Lee will start, but I think it is a given that Jefferson starts from Day 1. I just don't think he has the leash he did last year, if he performs as bad as he did during State/West Virginia/Tennessee games Les may go with Mett, that is a big IF however.

He needs to have a TD blog called "Beaux Kneauxs." All this inside info is wild.

I want JJ to do well because I'll take another NC anyway we can get it, but you do realize that exact time frame is some of the worst offense we have EVER seen.

Barring injury JJ was gonna start the Oregon game. Until JJ loses the position it's his job all the way. The only way JJ can lose the position is when the games start. I tried to tell you guys it was JJ position and there wasn't gonna be some radical change in Les's offensive philosophy. Even if JJ does pass poorly he will still play because Les likes his ability to run. Les has made it clear he would let each player play to their strengths and use multiple QBs if necessary.
