My internet sux. Lag destroys me in FPS multiplayer. Is there anyway to compensate?

Unless you can predict the future, then probably not.

It's probably not your internet. Most of the time, people with crappy uploads have an advantage.

It has to be, Last night I tried to play Crysis, got one game completed any other games when I wasn't dying repeatedly the game would cut in the middle, even bounced me from XBL. Then I couldn't get back into a game to save my life.
It's been like that since the first day.

Are you on DSL? If so, then it's probably your internet, and there isn't much you can do about it, outside of changing your ISP or possibly upgrading your service.
Otherwise, it's server related. It could be that your NAT isn't open or that the game is just having server issues, which is pretty common for a new game.

Thanks. It's not DSL its the LAN set up in the apartment so I already know they aren't going to open up the NAT. Oh well Ill be moving in a couple months, just have to deal with a shitty KD

Some ISPs route certain game traffic in the same category as P2P. They may be throttling you big time when you play games. When you go here and run the test, is your latency in the triple digits? If it's not, you may want to google some info on closing certain ports on your router in order to force the Xbox (or whatever) to use one that doesn't get throttled.
EDIT: Accidentally linked the speed test without latency

What keywords would you google to find that info?
