I drank alot of Penfolds in college, but I kind of gave it up years ago.
I had a glass at a get-together a few weeks ago and I thought it was pretty good so I picked up a bottle.
It was the Penfolds Koonunga Hill 2008 Shiraz-Cabernet for less than $10.
It's drinking ok. Not great, but not terrible....and it's getting better as the night goes on.

The Penfolds Bin 389 (Cabernet-Shiraz) was one of the best buys on the market a few years ago when you could pick up recent vintages for $16-18 bucks. Not to be found at that price anymore, unfortunately.

Considering I only spent $8.99 I guess I shouldn't be too offended.
I'll definitely step it up a notch when I try the cabernet.

Frankly, they still produce very decent wine at a reasonable price. A friend used to own a small piece of the winery.
