I hear a lot of people saying they think after a few years at corner he should move to safety. Yeah he's a bit bigger but he's one of the best corners around and you're gonna put him at safety? Don't see the logic.

Wasn't nearly the corner PP can be. You just don't move a lockdown corner to a position that is easier to fill.

You do when age and/or injuries have robbed him of that fraction of a step difference between CB speed and Safety speed. As with the Rod Woodson example mentioned earlier, I expect Peterson to have a phenomenal career as a CB, and with age a successful transition to Safety where his skills and experience would make him an all-star for many more years.

Darrell Green types who still have CB speed when they're collecting Social Security are ridiculously rare freaks, and has little to do with skill or ability. That's just a result of incredible luck with injuries and an insanely unlikely draw in the genetic lottery. No reason to suspect Peterson to have that kind of fortune.
