I realize you know Desiard, but get out about 30 minutes before dark at Forsythe and Loop Rd. Fish with a purple lizard at night and you'll tear them up. Also like I said in another post there are some ponds by Russel Sage off Hwy 80 goin towards Start that have some good fishing. Black Bayou is also good.

Bouef River near Alto a white war eagle spinnerbait is monroe around tops. Poverty Point a chartreuse black back bandit on the north end of the lake . And a Scum Frog on the Bonne Idee early in the mornings. These baits on these lakes you can smoke them

Not in Monroe, but in Union Parish - Harrell Lake. Actually not the lake itself but where it flows out (underflow culvert) and forms a creek that meanders on through Upper Ouachita. From the culvert to maybe half a mile or so on down, fish with spinner bait or plastic worm from the bank - fun easy fishing when you don't have a boat.

Off topic I know, but I just started fishing bayou desiard and was thinking of using a watermelon seed plastic lizard with a weight and a gap hook set in the body of the lizard. Water is kind of low right now with a fair amount of underwater vegetation. Sound like I have a decent setup? My crankbaits didn't see a lot of hits and getting the moss off the lure is a PITA.

We fished harrell/finch lake back in 70's when river flooded over into it we were catching 50+ bass a day on live shad and rattletraps. Haven't been there in years ...lots of grennel (spelling) in there

I caught some behind my friend's house off deborah today. About to make a thread about the goo I caught. Otherwise, bluegill, bream, and a small bass. It's a tough spot, but it was still fun to get out.

I'm talking about a pond that's on the side opposite the bayou. It's probably about 200 yards past the railroad tracks away from foresythe extension. It is fed by the bayou, but not really part of it.

you talking about the little body of water thats on either side of the road in between those houses?
