Snow skiing in the northeast

I am moving to Massachusetts for work sometime in the next few months and was wondering if anyone had done any skiing around there(new hampshire, Vermont, etc.).
I have skied Colorado and Utah and know it won't be anywhere near as good, but being a short drive away will allow me to go fairly often. Also plan to do some mountain biking in the summer if anyone has done that either.
TIA

There are some really good Mtns in Vermont - Stowe, Sugarbush, Jay Peak, Okemo.
It is completely different then CO/Ut skiing...but good stuff.

Thanks. I have looked into Stowe before and it looks pretty good.
What do you mean by it being different? Is there more tree skiing? Crappy snow?

That's cool. I skiied in Switzerland last year in straight ice and handled it like Michelle fricking Kwan.

The conditions will be quite different from Colorado or Utah. The snow is heavier in the East and as mentioned there is a lot more ice.
There is no such thing as tree skiing in the Northeast...they make you stick to the trails - if you go out of bounds..there is a good chance some jackass will pull your ticket...
Anyway - there have been a few times in the last decade where the Northeast has had better snow conditions then the Mid-West. It will take a little addjusting..but it is still good skiing.

It won't be like the snow out west
Very choppy and tough skiing
If you make it to Maine Sugar Loaf is great and so is Sunday River.
However, since you will officially be a Masshole/Masstard just go ahead and stay out of Maine
