Solution to help stop NFL lockout

I am not a huge NFL guy because I prefer college. What shocks me is that the fans are sitting on the side while the negotiations go on. Fans can stop this lockout but they must unite and attack the owners. If all season ticket holders of each franchise would take the time to write the franchise and promise the owners that if a lockout occurs, they will not buy another ticket for 5 years. It would also help if anyone else who has bought a ticket in the last 5 years did this also.
Most owners know that 50% probably will not follow through after the first few games, but this would still hit their pockets really hard for a few years. As long as the owners have no threats from the fans, they are in complete control. Fans need to make the point that the NFL will suffer from the lockout just like the NHL did

You assume that everyone would 100percent support the players. While I'm sure that players UNION has it's valid points. I also recognize that unions can negotiate such a good deal that it can hurt the product. See GM for example.
I will wait and see before I start jumping up and down.

They would say, goodbye while dialing the number of who's next on the wait list.
Those tickets would be sold

This for certain. There will always be someone who will want those tickets.

Again, it would take mass cooperation which is almost impossible. I would think the networks would cooperate since they will still have to honor the contract payments.
After the draft, I could care less. It is an idea to stop the lockout, so y'all enjoy a year without the NFL.

its a stupid idea that is completely unrealistic. it isn't logical because the NFL is going to make money if they play the games. They already know this, the owners didn't get this rich being dumb.

FWIW, Alejandro loves your idea

I support the owners, the risk takers...what should I do?

Go buy season tickets for next season No matter what happens.

I have. If there is no season, the $ will go towards the next year.

half of the saints ticket holders can barely say the name of the players, much less write a letter.

I think that you're heading in the right direction, and you're almost there. It's not the season ticket holders who need to rebel, however. It's the state and local governments who need to start talking about lost revenue. It's the restaurant, bar, and hotel owners who need to start applying pressure on the league. It's the people who work in the stadium and depend on that revenue to make ends meet who need to start making noise.
The lockout will happen if and only if the owners allow it to, and all the above mentioned (and more, when you think about how many municipalities are already cash strapped WITHOUT major tax revenue cut off by the lockout) will suffer with a lockout.
The owners are sociopaths. That needs to be the message here.

I think you have the right idea. Everyone who has a stake be it finacially or as a fan(or both) should let the owners and local officials know how they feel and how a lock out would effect you and your community. They
are playing nothing but a P.R. game. If they think they are losing it they will be more flexible with the players. I still believe many of the demands the owners have gone public with are just bargining chips to get to one of the main concerns which is the guaranteed rookie pay.
I also have doubts that Jerry Jones can survive a lock out. He has bills to pay
Are there other owners in the same boat?
Slight change soph.

The owners are greedy, lying, modern day robber barons. But we are talking about millinaires fighting millionaires/billionaires for more of a piece of the proverbial pie. We don't even know what exaclty is on the table other than health coverage and rookie wage scales and such. I just want to watch football and right now it is the owners who are stopping it so I'm certainly not sympathetic to their side.

The players made a legit offer and the owners walked away. The owners are making no effort to have legitimate negotiations, and one of their point men took it upon himself to hurl insults at two of the more prominent player reps.
