Casey Matthews... I would really like to see if Saints can trade down from #24 pick but I would really want this guy. Use the 2nd round pick for DT. I think G. Williams would be able to benefit from his versatility at OLB.

LINK

Dream draft
1st rnd- Casey Matthews- ILB,OLB Oregon
2nd rnd- Phil Taylor DT Baylor but will probably be gone so best DL available.
3rd rnd- Tejay Johnson- S TCU
3rd rnd- Kendall Hunter RB - OKIE St.
7th rnd- Best Player Available

No way ....don't take a 3rd/probably a 4th at #24. Casey is not Clay.

I had a man crush on Clay Matthews in the draft. I do not want the wannabe brother.

I heard he was getting thrown around at either the senior bowl or the east/west game, one of those 2.

At best. I think his bloodline is helping that projection. We will see whats up after the combine.

Why do you think the saints would have to draft him in the first?

I meet him at Senior Bowl. he is a good kid, hard worker, very professional already. He is way too small, kinda slow, but is the proverbial Engine that can, as he has incredible football intelligence. He knows his own weakness and how to hide them. that said is is a weak side outside LB. He cant take on the big guys in the middle as was shown by SN practices. If he can cover TE he can play on Sundays. He shouldny be able too, but damn he seems to find a way. I like him and would take him as a saint as he has a shot of being a very good special teams guy as he seems to always be around the ball, but he is a 4th round pick.

I think Matthews is a stretch as a 3rd rd pick much less 1st??, I'd guess he goes 4th or 5th

2nd rnd- Phil Taylor DT Baylor but will probably be gone so best DL available.
- I have him mocked to the Saints in the 2nd

3rd rnd- Tejay Johnson- S TCU
-help me understand the reasoning for a FS when we have a budding star there and a vet HOFer to back him up? Or are ya moving him to SS and replace Harper? Value-wise I can't find anyone projecting him more than a 6th-7th Rd prospect

3rd rnd- Kendall Hunter RB - OKIE St.
-could be a reasonable value for a need depending on how they project the Reggie & PT futures

The saints could get him in the 3rd round. Then they would have to find out if he could play outside linebacker.

Only way I won't commit you to an asylum...is if you're from the future and are telling us who to get in one of those hindsight 20/20 dealies.

you do realize that you will be able to get Matthews in the late 3rd/4th right?

and that he got completely handled at the Senior Bowl...AND that he's not really a pass rusher right???
