But these arse rapings we've been taking this season are pretty unacceptable. I've been pretty reserved about criticizing TJ, but we're not even competing out there and that falls on the coach.

Take an average team, then take their top scorer and the top returning player to that team away because of injuries, and you get a pretty sucky situation.

I agree it sucks. Storm/Turner being out has hurt....but we would still be losing.
I know it's hard to believe with what we are seeing lately....but next years team is being picked to be pretty good (not by just LSU homers)...we do have some good talent coming in and a legit big man (which will make all the difference in the world).
So i'm sucking it up this year...and hoping we can improve when we get our 2 injureds back...but...next year is really do or die for Trent.

Kentucky and UT people kind of saw those losses coming.

the only one where I got upset with during the run was Ole Miss.

But Tenn. was so hot from behind the arc tonight early it just killed us...even when we had a hand in the face.

Yeah..LSU Bball is my fav sport of all sports...so it is no doubt frustrating.....but every game even not on SEC Network they always talk about how Trent is building the program right and if the fans can be patient we will be good on a regular basis...but in middle of rebuilding people can become impatient..and it will pay off if LSU is patient.
Next year is the year I thinka lot of people are pointing at to see vast improvement.
He has a track record of being able to do it...so i'm keeping the faith.

Wish we would mix more man in with that zone. Seems like TJ just sticks to it now because it worked twice, and once against a pretty bad team. This is frustrating. But, no use moaning about it, nothing can be done now but wait until next year to see what happens.

this game stings pretty bad

Naaa...we played tough...one bad stretch at end of half...played good for while 2nd half..then Tenn talent finally just took over. Doesn't hurt that much in my book

I really do think Trent Johnson can turn LSU basketball around into a strong program like it was with Dale Brown in the 80s. I'm willing to wait at least one more year. I think we will be much improved next year.

Bilj,

Do you watch the game or just react to the stat line from the game thread?

You can't sugar coat this team. Their absolutely terrible. TJ has to bear the brunt because he's recruited a bunch of marginal BBall players at this point.
I never thought this years team could be as bad as last years, but they are.
Hopefully O'bryant, Issac, and Hamilton are really good and these years players improve ALOT.

Kentucky and Tennessee are much better than us this year regardless of injuries. I'm not sure what happened against Ole Miss. But firing the coach at this point wouldn't help a thing. Give him a chance to turn this around with the young players he has. I realize that the big boys can get super star freshmen to come in and play for one year, but we don't have that right now. I don't think we could hire a better coach if we fire TJ at this point, might as well show some patience and hope for the best next year.

i think with as bad as trent has been the last 2 years its almost big dance or bust next year

Next year will go a long way toward determining if Trent will get it done. We must see some big improvement next year. I'm patient but next year is year four.

If we are flirting with the bubble next year...he def gets another year...to flirt with the bubble he will have around 18-20 wins....which would be a vast improvement people want.
Going into the next year though..if he didn't make the dance..he would be fired.
