According to Dandy Don,
Nick Saban - $5,997, 349
Mack Brown - $5,161,500
Bob Stoops - $4,375,000
Urban Meyer - $4,010,000 (retired)
Les Miles - $3,905,000
Jim Tressel - $3,888,389
Kirk Ferentz - $3,781,000
Jim Grobe - $2,939,475 (Wake Forest)
Mark Richt - $2,937,740
Bobby Petrino - $2,713,000

Is it crazy or classy Joe Pa is not on this list. Isn't he the all time most winning coach? Way to go Less, if we win the title next year do you think he gets a raise?

Joe Pa makes a little over 1 mil. I can't remember but I swear I remember reading that one of his assistants makes around the same amount he does, but could be wrong on that.

I remember watching something about him.. he still lives in like a $150k house.. he really doesn't care about the money all that much

I would wonder how accurate these numbers are year in and year out. Contracts tend to be weighted different depending on incentives, etc. I know at one point here recently, Miles was making more than Saban and vise versa other years. I don't know how much I believe Saban makes close to 6 million per.

as of 2-3 years ago he didn't even have an agent. I remember reading something to the effect that the penn state admins have to go to him about salary and contracts b/c he doesn't care about it. i have the utmost respect for that man. he puts his program first and isn't trying to squeeze every penny out of them that he can like most coaches do.

Exactly what I was thinking. I may need to seek employment with this university. Where can I get an app?

Ferentz and Grobe must have great agents. Where can I get a job like theirs? $3 million and all you have to do is have winning seasons to keep your job.

So am I the only one that thinks that Bob Stoops is way too high on that list for what Oklahoma has been getting?

These are not base salaries and include incentives. That is the only reason Saban is at 6mill. He'll be back at his base of 4mill next year due to the 3 losses and accomplishing nothing...

With incentives for winning 09 title. His base is at 4mill behind Mack Brown and Bob Stoops.
