Ha!
No, I'm just saying that 16 seasons is the longest LSU has ever been ever to sustain "good times" before. If Miles can maintain the program we'll be heading into new territory as a CFB program.

No one can give LSU credit for 1958 decade of LSU football when they wouldn't even allow blacks to play in the SEC. As I recall, thats around the same time Bear Bryant had his arse handed to him by USC... those titles had absolutely nothing to do with who is the best team and everything to do with southern racial politics. Southern would have kicked LSU's arse back then, just look at who was sending more players to the NFL. LoL what a joke

FWIW, the 16-year period from 1932 to 1947 wasn't bad either, but that quickly died out too.

You obviously have no idea what you're talking about.

ok, taking ericb's retarded rant out of the convo.....i agree, and with miles, this gold era will strecth on muh longer than people are willing to believe

In the first 15-year period referenced, Ole Miss plays 15 more games than LSU. Is that true?
In the second golden period, LSU is 4th in SEC standings, yet 4th in subjective national rankings? Is THAT true? If so, everyone needs to stop playing the r-e-s-p-e-c-t card, because it would seem the Tigers have gotten more than they deserve. I can see 'em top-5 for the last decade, though. And for the next!

I wouldn't include 1995-99 in a golden era. Sure, '96 and '97 were great, but in '98 and '99, we went a combined 7-15.
There was a poster who called 2000-2010 a golden era, and I would agree with that. It's hard to find many programs comparable to LSU over the last 11 seasons.
I still don't know how we went 4-7 in 1998 with Herb Tyler, Kevin Faulk and Rondell Mealey, even with Lou Tepper as our DC. If Carl Reese would have stuck around, we could have won a national title.

1969 would have been much better if the Cotton Bowl would not have screwed us so bad ....

You missed the Bear Bryant USC thing by about 13 years. Which just cements the fact that your a stupid ignorant dumbass. Even in that era LSU was sending more players to the NFL than Southern. If you believe otherwise, then back it up with some facts?

Golden eras do not have back to back losing seasons. Starts in 2000.

Doc historically I would call the time of 1995-1999 as the rise of the 2nd Golden Era.
It was clear by 1998 that if LSU could lock down the state in recruiting and pick up a few out of state LSU would be a powerhouse.

I would not include it in the 2nd Golden Era.

Yes it only because of 98 and 99, that I would not included that time in the 2nd Golden Era.
