I will probably get killed for this, but hear me out. I think Payton will draft a WR in the mid or late rounds.

1st Payton loves the depth.

2nd Colston is a FA after '12 I personally think he will try to get a big payday though it hurts to say.

3rd Henderson looked like he had lost a step or something. Was he injured and the Saints just didn't say? May never know.

Thoughts?

Thanks for the reply, but what do you think?

What do you think about our WR depth, about losing Colston or ever Shockey? Is Devery done???

Colston is here to stay, So if we keep Moore, Arrington, Meachem... That's 4 deep right there. IF there is a BPA player too good to pass up, thats fine but I don't think they go out their way to draft someone. They have the ability to pickup UDFA and make them productive.

I think we all know 4 deep at WR will not cut it for Payton.

The more I think about it I think we take a WR with one of our 3rd rounders. I've seen stranger.

He's under contract for 2011. That's all that matters for now. And it shouldn't be too hard to resign him when necessary.

I like our WR's for next season.

Colston
Moore
Meachem
Henderson
Arrington

We don't need top draft pick type receivers. Plug in any young receiver who can run good routes and understand the playbook and Drew will feed them the ball succesfully.

Colston
Moore
Meachem
(speed guy)
Arrington

Somebody who can stretch the field. All of our guys are great route runners with good hands but I see no speed at W.R..

Devery is fast, Meachem is fast.

I was thinking someone who could make a impact for years down the road not just in '11. Think Dynasty. After Colston Devery and Shockey are gone.

No one thought we needed a top draft pick type corner last year either. Glad we made that move.

pretty much...

but I think Devery has lost his burst...I'd call him "quick" now.

We all forget that Meachem can stretch the field but we lost sight of that this season b/c he was playing injuried all year with a toe.

you can't compare the need for depth on defense for the needs on offense.

Sorry, that just doesn't make sense to me. We ran through a load of RBs this year and the # of different schemes Payton runs, calls for depth at the WR position as well.

Need to get something more out of the return game. Cobb from Kentucky.

Now we are talking.

Bush may be gone soon as well. As a "receiving threat/decoy" out of the backfield, this will hurt.

I am saying it now. We will take a WR with our 1st round pick. Then o-line.

Cobb would be a suave pickup IMO. He holds the SEC record for all purpose yards in a season (2,396). Coming off a solid season:

84 rec. 1,017yds. 7 TD (no fumbles).
55 carries 424 yards 5 TD (no fumbles).

The only downside is he's not the fastest guy.

But he would be another versatile weapon that could do some damage in this offese. He is a solid kick returner as well.
