IMO, it would be like saying you don't like The Sandlot. It is near impossible.

sorry, but it's pretty much just a rip off of The Wizard of Oz. and in all cases of derivative films I almost always prefer the precursor.

i don't know i've never heard anybody say that. of course i've never really discussed Labyrinth with any of my friends or colleagues.
if you just look at the opening scene with the girl in her bedroom there are dolls around her room that look like later characters in the movie, very similar to Dorothy's family members and neighbors and the subsequent characters she meets in Oz. just an observation, the movie can definitely stand on its own, i just think it's a bit derivative and sometimes weird for the sake of being weird.
