After going to that stadium, seeing that production, no way in hell it won't be a BCS bowl w/in the next few years.

It felt like a really big game. And the Fox production quality was very good. The fans sounded jacked up for both teams.

Espn should not be tied with BCS, that seems like a violation of anti-trust policy

I noticed the same--sound and picture. Is it just me are do the CBS games pale in comparison to this and ESPN broadcasts?

Fox was using the Cotton Bowl as a dry run for their Super Bowl broadcast.

Before the fiesta bowl came around the cotton bowl was one of the big four bowls. I don't know how it got knocked down, I suppose it was funded properly. Moving it off of new years day and to a night game as well as being in the new Jerry world stadium all help it. It didn't,t hurt that T AM and The LSU were playing. Both schools have great fan bases and were close enough to travel easily.

The atmosphere in that stadium last night was awesome. Announced at 85k+. It has became a prime time bowl again.

Cotton Bowl did not want to put up the money, so they were out. It may be a good bowl now, but why should they be let back in and someone be put out. what if they put out the Sugar Bowl, how would you feel.

Yes , it Should be a BCS Bowl ..

Couple Reasons
1. It's was a Major Bowl til The Money Full Fiesta Bowl Bought it's way in the Major Bowl list.
2. The stadium is unreal ..
3. The tradition is Rich.

*As LSU Fans it would be great to have such a Bowl so close, Travel is easy ... And would be a great option after The Sugar bowl getting the SEC Champion , if we would be a BCS Quilifying Team and not win the SEC.

The Rose Orange fiesta is all over 1000 miles away.

When does the SEC have the ability to send its 2nd best team there? I think this would be a good move 2nd SEC v. 2nd Big 12 until it can get into BCS.

This. I would imagine it will have the best ratings of any game outside of the Sugar, Rose, and NC, but it is not getting into the BCS because of the ties with Fox. Sucks, but it is what it is.

I'd rather see BCS dropped and Playoff installed and that would be a great stadium for that venue.

Jerry Jones is fighting like hell for it to be and It will be soon.

I was at the Annatole on Thursday night and all i heard from LSU people and staff was how they have never seen so much red carpet rolled out for a non BCS bowl.

With that stadium and a great location in the center of the US, Its crazy for it not to be.

That bowl will definitely become part of the BCS bowl rotation and host an NC every few years. It just makes sense.

I do not have a problem with them being as BCS bowl. I grew up with just the four bowls for a long time, Rose, Cotton, Sugar and Orange. Always thought it was unfair to the Cotton Bowl for not being in the BCS mix. Then I read it was their own doing. Let them back in as long as it does mess with the Sugar Bowl I am fine with it.

The Jones'(Jerry's son is on the Cotton Bowl Committee now) are just waiting for the renewal of the BCS contract in 2014. It's just a matter of waiting for that to be done. Then ESPN will be all over it because it will fall into their grimy little hands.

Cotton bowl pulled in over 9 million viewers.

Fast National ratings for Friday, Jan. 7, 2011

quote:

FOX scored a ratings touchdown on Friday thanks to the AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic, which brought in around 9 million viewers and demographic win for the network. In case you were wondering: LSU beat Texas A&M in the big game. With new episode of "Medium" and "CSI: NY" and a rerun of "The Mentalist," CBS came in a strong second. ABC came in third as a healthy 5.1 million viewers tuned into ABC for "Primetime: What Would You Do?"
