Chavis as HC?

Does Chavis have any desire to be a head coach? I would of course like to see him fire Crowton and bring in a splashy offensive coordinator. Chavis could coach the D and leave the offense alone. Something Les could not keep his hands out of.

Main question being, does he want the responsibility of HC?

Pretty sure he does not.

^^ This. He likes being a DC. He also doesn't hit the road in recruiting, which would be required if he was a HC.

Been wondering same thing, just posted on it in another thread. Hate to lose Miles, I think we are just a OC away with Mett coming in. I would not have a problem with Chavis if that’s how it comes down.

My worst fear is that we lose Chavis with Miles. That is the other possibility. Miles with Chavis to fix their D at Michigan is a lot more attractive than just Miles.

I don't see Chavis leaving for Michigan. He likes being in the south. The only place I see him leaving for voluntarily would be UGA or UT and he turned UGA down last year.

I hope you are right. The D is going to be National Championship caliber again next year if Chavis is at LSU

Thought about this as well. I don't see him leaving with Miles, and he has been pretty clear in the past that he wants to be a DC, not a HC. I would only see this happening if:

a.) There are no strong HC candidates left out there who are interested

b.) It is only for one year as a stop-gap and,

c.) it enables them to keep the current staff together to minimize the impact on recruiting
