Does anyone on here either own or know someone that's owns a Subway franchise? I'm looking into opening one in BR and trying to get some opinions of Subway from a business prospective.

Not sure about that yet. Maybe south of Highland road somewhere. There is only one subway, besides the one on LSU's campus, south of Highland road in all of BR.

*edit
Forgot about the one on Burbank near W Parker.

I do. A man I know owns 9 locations around the Baton Rouge area - his "home" base is in Baker / Zachary.

From those who I have spoke to I would say it's a terrible idea. Think about it, they have continued to lower pricing and give more food ie $5.00 ft long. Pre five dollar ft long $8-$9 avg ticket 120-150 trans a day may have kept the lights on. Now your avg ticket may be closer to seven. Now you have to bring in more customers to make the same money, increase staff to accomodate increase in customers. Try and figure out your potential food cost including labor and other cost of doing business, I would say this would leave pennies in profit.
Typically the only ones who make it big in these ideas are the originator of the franchise or those franchissees who could open multiple locations.

I don't own one or know anyone who does, but you can come to LC and open up a Jersey Mike's. I'd be a loyal customer!

Plus there's one on Highland right by Lee.

And what's between all of that, Gardere? Yeah... another area that is somewhat lacking is mid-city. There's nothing between Downtown and S. Foster, but do you really want to go there?
