Someone refresh me...Isn't he a highly ranked baseball player too? Is there still a concern of turning pro?

My son who played Baseball with him in the past say's he is a left handed pitcher that can hit high 80's low 90's.

I'm quite sure the MLB has never drafted a 5'9" pitcher.

If he's a lefty that can throw in the 90s then they might start.

I don't see his name in the 2011 mock drafts.

They have a kid in the majors right now who is somewhere around 5' 5" who pitches. If he can really consistently hit high 80s - mid 90s and is a solid lefty... He is going to get a ton of looks. The MLB just loves those solid lefties. If he has some nice breaking balls... he is just adding fuel to the fire. I don't think this will be as intense as the Zach Lee ordeal, but he will get a ton of looks.

He would be an excellent pickup for Mainieri if he can get him to play. We need another left handed pitched badly.

Magee does pitch but MLB clubs have interest in him as an outfielder. He was impressive at the East Coast Professional Showcase in Lakeland, FL this summer and has a chance to go in the top 5 rounds.

As for 5'9" pitchers, the Cubs took one in the first round (16th overall pick) last summer, in Hayden Simpson from D-II Southern Arkansas.

His name hasn't surfaced as a potential pro bound player to date. ONLY way I see him getting attention is if his fastball is continuously over 92mph ALL spring.

From what I can tell, Magee is good enough to possibly play baseball at LSU, but isn't likely to be drafted nearly high enough to send him to MLB.

He's on the radar of every major league club and will be heavily scouted this spring as a centerfielder.

Don't go by what you read in Baseball America...go by the number of scouts who will show up in Franklinton and wherever they play on the road this spring...there will be plenty.

If the draft was today he would not go in the top 5 rounds...that's what I was basically implying.

Also, I don't read Baseball America

I doubt any draft situation happens with him. If so he will be drafted very late and get offered little to none. Next step Geaux to LSU!

Thanks, I thought it was outfield but didn't realize he was that good of a pitcher.

Ty Ty(Terrance) is all LSU. He is a great baseball player that hits for high avg, throws hard and has some scouts looking hard from what I hear. I hear he is solid for LSU and I cant wait to see him in LSU purple and gold. Kid is a class act and one helluva athlete. Two sport star coming to Baton Rouge.

He will get a lot of looks from MLB and there will be much more interest than you think. That said, he will be a Tiger and will play baseball and football at LSU. I cannot wait!

Not only will he be one of the top freshman at LSU next year he is a GREAT individual who will eventually be the leader for LSU that we all talk about for a very long time.
