Help me finish this debate I am having with a Nebraska fan, about who is the better CB prospect for the NFL draft. If you feel, shocked, even embarrassed to quantify this as a debate after having witnessed one of the greatest players ever at LSU, then count me in your corner

But I have been told that being one of LSU's greatest CB's ever, is not really saying a lot. ouch. How soon we forget Tommy Casanova!
I am finding it harder and harder to root for these cornhuskers.

Regardless, I gave him exhibit A - Justin Blackmon vs. Prince this year
LINK
a 4 min clip of massive :pwnage: from Blackmon which should have wiped out the delusion from those HFCS tinged eyes.
But I was told of a similar put-down for PP7 which happened at the hands of Julio Jones - a WR who is apparently not half as talented as Justin Blackmon. Also, apparently PP7 does not have the hips to play man to man at the pro level and will probably be converted to safety ( LINK) before the draft. huh??

So humor me, Tiger fans. Which player is the better CB, the better pro prospect, and ultimately who do you believe will be more successful?

HE's an idiot, not worth the time.

Just because PP is big doesnt mean he cant play corner, clearly he can is projected to play there. Every draft site also has him rated higher than Amukamara. Amukamara is very good but not as shut down as PP.

Posted on the SECr about a similar argument a few days ago.
"Peterson's prowess is evidenced more by numbers that aren't published: 48 balls thrown to his man or his zone during the year, 23 completions, zero touchdowns allowed, 2 pass completions for over 20 yards all year. One Int. per 12 passes thrown his way ain't too shabby either."

It's too bad no site really keeps this type of information for college (that I'm aware of), but a great thing to look at would be how many throws each player had on him.

I'd guess PP7s would be a lot lower since he went three or four games at least with teams throwing completely away from him.

As bad as the Prince was in that video, he should chance his first name to Pauper.

honestly, I haven't seen enough of Prince to make an assessment. the OSU game was rough for him, but I read somewhere that as the game wore on he got the better of Blackmon, as most of the catches came early. also, I believe I read he had like 12 passes completed on him all yr.

of course I've seen a bunch of PP, and I can't really say enough about how he lived up to his expectations. if ppl wanna complain about his hips, just go back and watch tape of him vs. Julio or AJ. only flaw I've really seen with PP is sometimes wanting to jump routes that aren't his responsibility when we're in zone (but even that's subsided as he's gotten older). other than that, I'm a believer.

Peterson is a big tim CB but those have to be off a little. He definitely allowed a TD to Julio Jones, granted it was a throw placed where no CB would of defended it.

How many return yards does the Prince have?

These assessments typically do not take into account the passes thrown in zone coverage. Someone took the time to review every one of Peterson's games this year and the breakdown was impressive. 48 passes thrown to his man or his zone responsibility, 23 completions, zero touchdowns, 2 for over 20 yds. Of that number the actual man on man coverage was ridiculous. 7 completions in 21 attempts with 3 of his 4 int's. Most of the completions were less than ten yards and mainly occurred in three games, Alabama with two future NFL wideouts, UF and Ark. with their talented players. One Int. every 7 passes thrown his way in man coverage is beyond excellent.

I havent seen the huskers play so i go by peoples draft boards, and pp is the first cb taken everytime. He is in a class on his own.

Not saying prince isnt a great player, by most accounts he is. He just isnt PP.

I bet Julio goes before blackmon in the draft also.

PP7 will be the first corner/db taken because he is the best corner in college football but also because of his ability to return kicks and punts. That alone sets him way apart from anyone else.

Honestly the combine/Pro-Day will decide this.... If Peterson shines during one or both of those then he will be the first DB taken. If he comes of slower than we believe he is, isn't strong, or lacks something else then Prince could and probably would move ahead of him. Peterson is a freak athlete which sets him apart.

Regardless of which player is drafted first, I have zero doubt that Peterson will be a better player in the NFL. He'll make an instant impact from day one.

I know I am really anxious to see what PP7 runs in the 40. Do any of you guys know what he is supposed to run it at? I know every year some guys go in supposed to run very fast 40's but then don't. I really hope PP7 shows off.

plain and simple =

any big 12 corner back is worth about as much as a tackling dummy =

THERE IS NO DEFENSE IN THE BIG 12 (or whats left of it)
THERE IS NO DEFENSE IN THE BIG 12 (or whats left of it)
THERE IS NO DEFENSE IN THE BIG 12 (or whats left of it)
